The best PIZZA in Canada.
Yep seriously it is.
Im a big Pizza eater and have ate PIZZA in almost every province in Canada not to mention hundreds of places everywhere.
Try the Pizza here and you will be happy, ask for extra sauce.
Some places to slap together their Pizza and dont care..this place cares.
I've gone to Glenwood 3 or 4 times and based on my experience so far I won't order from the big chain-store pizza joints again. The quality of the pizza is very very good, the crust is excellent, it's fresh and it's TASTEY! If I had to find a negative I'd have to say that there's not a ton of selection and, as it's strictly a take-away or delivery place, there's no ambience to speak of (other than the terrific aroma) but that's fine... I won't ask them to be something they are not. What they do, they do very well so my review: Two enthusiastic thumbs up.
Glenwood Pizza is the best pizza I have ever consumed.
They use fresh ingredients and they make their own dough every day. You will never have a bad food experience here. The lasagna is one of my favorites, there is so much cheese and it is so delicious.
I can't even pick my favorite pizza, there are the standard ones everyone knows about, but at Glenwood they get so experimental and they've recommended a feta and tomato pizza, which I honestly never would have tried, but since the recommendation, I've hardly ordered anything else.
I also have fallen in food-lust with their sub sandwiches. So much cheese! I really enjoy the pub sub which has pizza sauce, ground beef, mushrooms and plenty of cheese! I've never ordered anything that I didn't really enjoy eating.
They are so friendly and it is a family run operation with people who truly care that you enjoy your pizza. They go to such lengths to make sure there is plenty of sauce and cheese on each pizza, it really makes their pizza stand out above the rest. Their delivery people are always very polite and friendly, and they never mind that I'm slow with getting my change out.
Considering you can get a pizza that was the dough prepared a few days ago for $17.00 from any random pizza place and you can get a freshly prepared pizza from Glenwood for $13.00 just blows me away. Their pizza's are so well priced it makes it possible to have a pizza treat once a week.
I'm so thankful that I've come across Glenwood Pizza and I look forward to my once a week pizza date!
The first thing that will happen when you walk in to collect your pizza...is you will rememebr what it is that pizza is supposed to be by the smell. If you are looking for generic Panago-Hut esque pizza then you wont find it here. The crust is perfect, the ingrredients fresh and plentiful and the complete package is hands down the best pizza we have ever eaten. The "everything but the fish" is a winner as well as the meat lovers and the greek. You will NOT be dissapointed! Worth the drive!
Brookswood in South Langley has a few good pizza places to choose from. I suppose that's why it took me 5 years to discover Glenwood Pizza. Now that I have I won't go anywhere else. Their sauce is delicious and toppings are all fresh. I order thin crust and extra cooked for a crispy bottom. It is perfect every time.
Let me preface this review of Glenwood by saying that the true test of a pizza joint is the quality of the Capicola Ham they use.
This was the second time we have ordered from Glenwood. We ordered the "Standard" Pizza which was very good. Lots of toppings, cheese etc. The second pizza was "Capicola Hawaiian". Your typical Hawaiian with Capicola as a substitute for regular ham. You would think that when you order Capicola Ham, you expect to see and taste it on your pizza.
Capicola for those who don't know, is a spiced Italian Ham, characterized by a red/orange rind and red/orange veins into the marbled pork. Tasty and spicy.
I will make a habit of ordering Capicola Ham as a test of a pizza establishment, mostly because cheap owners think they can buffalo the ignorant masses with a lame alternative of ham and a pathetic sprinkling of cayenne pepper.
Sad to say Glenwood takes the cheap, easy out, and provides the ham and cayenne. Tisk,tisk,tisk...
Glenwood: you could be so much more. But alas you cave to the almighty dollar. Shame.
When this terrible travesty was discovered, and the establishment was confronted with the deception, I was put on hold whilst a convenient excuse was formulated. You will recall from the earlier rantings that I had made two excursions into the Glenwood culinary world, three years prior I might add. Well knock me down and call me Susan if they didn't give me the same tripe of an excuse as last time.."That's all we had tonight".What?
HAM is all you ever have Glenwood! Please don't disrespect the residents of Brookswood by passing off Ham and Cayenne as Capicola! If you don't have Capicola, say you don't have it and I will order something else. Can you imagine ordering a Hawaiian and getting Tomatoes instead of Pinapple and getting the excuse "That's all we had"? Not a chance!
The truth is, Glenwood is not the only one playing the phony Capicola Shame.. Oh I mean Game... 3 Stars
It is Feb.13th 2009. We have ordered from Glenwood for years. Even prior to when they moved. The service and quality of food was always good. We tried to order around Christmas time and were told that we were out of the area. After checking with the manager the girl on the phone took the order. We went to order again this week and once again were told that we were out of the area, When we questioned why....and that we were a regular customer. The same girl on the phone became very rude and and short. Its to bad as the food has been good over the years and we will never order again from this resturant and pass on the word of poor service if asked. This was bad enough that I'm writting this review and its the only one that I've ever felt compelled to write. The phone is always first impression in the food industry. The owner should concider removing his order person before they loose any more customers.
