Thumbing through the 2010 Entertainment book and found a $10 coupon for Flourishing. I gather they won a local award as the #1 Best of the Best Asian Restaurant in Langley because it's right on their take-out menu. This is only my second Chinese restaurant in Langley and both have been great. Flourishing gets the nod over the other. Price wise it's Flourishing hands down. All 4 dishes we ordered were excellent and of large proportion. Service was A-1. Restroom was tired looking and needed a makeover. A certainty we will be back.
I have a love hate relationship with this restaurant.
All chow mein dishes I've had were awesome
Fried rice dishes yummy.
Sweet and sour chicken balls, devine!
Sweet and sour pork - chewy
Beef in the beef and broccoli is chewy too
Crab with black bean sauce was bland.
We go to this restaurant often, we just avoid these particuliar dishes and we quite enjoy ourselves.
We tried this out after seeing this restaurant many times whilst passing through the older part of Langley city. At the time there were few or only this restaurant to choose from.
Only had the dim sum here and was terribly dissapointed....have never gone back. Can now say this was the worst dim sum I've ever had. I think it was cheap but that wasn't a deciding factor.
There are several others places for Dim Sum in Langley. Go elsewhere.
We've been twice for Dim Sum, first time was horrible, most of the dishes had no flavour and several were barely even what they claimed they were. Second time, we went on a Sunday to try cart service thinking it might be better. We got the same miserable waitress as the first time, ordered two dishes to start, and ended up leaving and going elsewhere for brunch.
I will say I've had dinner here in the past and while it isn't outstanding, it's at least edible. I'd probably rate the restaurant mostly 2's based on dinner.
Tried the dim sum on the weekend and it was not like having the take out we usually get. Chewy and rubbery. Sticky rice was nothing more than cooked white rice with one piece of chicken. Drive the extra 20 minutes and go to Richmond.
I never fail with this restaurant. My family have been going here for ~10 years and food is always great. If you pay cash for take out, they give you discount, which is great. I usually don't order dim sum like the reviews below but their main manus (other than dim sum) is great. Their servers are really friendly and bring whatever that I need quickly. I really recommend this place.
Been here a few times, and get takeout quite often. Good stuff! Can't go wrong with them, IMO. For the person who complained about greasyness: it's a north-american chinese food restaurant... I've never had chinese food in north america that wasn't as such.
Anyway, good place, courteous employees, never had any problems at all. Almost always faster deliveries than they estimate (which is a great surprise when you're hungry and not too patient.. ;) )
Will never order food to be delivered from this place again. The delivery time was quick and courteous, but the food was so greasy that we couldn't even eat it. What a shame as this restaraunt has been in business for many years.
A no Frills, no nonsense, SOlid and consistant chinese food restaraunt. There Dim sum selection is adequate and very tasty. It could be a bit faster and more frequent for service but all in all a good value for dollar spent here.
