Bites at Flights Are First Class!

If the airlines served food like this, people would fly just for the meals!

Whether you're boosting your take-off with eggs benedict or touching-down for one of Chef Rod's daily lunch specials, you will be getting it fresh....and you'll also be getting plenty of it. It is a formula that never disappoints.

Rod's daily soup is made from scratch and comes with a homemade biscuit. Judging from the soup pot that runs dry by 2 p.m., it is very popular

The sandwiches are always bursting with the finest, freshest ingredients, and are served with more than one side option. Of course you can get the fries, but I like the veggies and dip, fresh fruit or cup of noodles option.

The burgers are huge and are just as good as that other place that brags about its Triple O's. For something different, try the salmon burger. If clam chowder is the soup of the day, that's a perfect combo.

The daily lunch specials are worth marking your calendar. If you like
real beef dip, Wednesday is your day. It is hot, jucy, tender, and carved before your eyes. Sunday is eggs benedict; Monday, chicken caesar wrap and fries; Tuesday, stir fry of the day on rice; Thursday, perogies and farmer sausage; Friday, cod and chips; Saturday, Canadian burger and fries.

Rod also makes his own pies, and the coffee is always good.

The ambience of Flights is a delight for aviation buffs; model airplanes dangle from the ceiling and vintage aviation prints line the wall. If you prefer the real thing, you can watch the airplanes land and take off from the main runway. If you bend an ear to the table beside you, you'll probably be hearing about the "golden days of flight" from one of the chatty members of the Canadian Museum of Flight which is right next door. They're always good for a story; trust me on that!

Flights has certainly improved the airspace and the appetites around the Langley Airport. Fly, drive, or walk in. You'll be glad you did!
