Brutal Delivery Service

First of all, Dragon Palace has been our favourite Chinese Food restaurants in the Walnut Grove area. Their food is always good.

That said, in our experience, their delivery times are usually more than an hour (even when they say 40 minutes). Last night was the final straw. I purposely asked them for an approximate delivery time. I was told about 40 minutes. I decided to call when I realized that it had now been more than an hour. When they answered the phone, they made up a story about how the computer crashed and they lost my order. Then they said it was be done right now and delivered right after. I asked them, "how can you remake my order if it was lost?" They didn't have answer. I then asked them why they didn't call me, and they said they didn't have my phone number. Also a lie!

I cancelled the order, and re-ordered from somewhere else, which delivered quicker than they quoted. Even though their food is good, their delivery service is always poor, they dropped the ball last night, and they lied to me. Dragon Palace lost a loyal customer, and their competition gained a new one!

Another chinese restaurant that is good because the food is good. Everything else is either poor or just so so. First of all, do not expect good service at this restaurant unless you know the wait staffs. The restaurant's decor is nothing to write about either, but man can they produce good tasting food.

The dishes that i like in there are the black cod and the crispy chicken in special sauce. They used to have good set menu also but they recently changed the content of their set menus which in my opinion not a good value anymore. It's better to order from their regular menu.

Good Lunch

I tried this places food for thed first time today. The 3 item plate for about $8.00 It was good. I ordered Chicken Chow Mein, Sweet and Sour pork and the Almond Chicken. The Sweet and Sour pork was fine but the Chicken chow mein and Almond Chicken were disapointing. First of all, the Chow mein was very oily and greasy and I was full and felt gross after a few spoonfuls of it. The Almond Chicken was so dry that it had literally no flavour! It was unbelivable how dry it was! Almond Chicken is our family favorite..however we have only had mulitple times at Wok Box (Wok Box has amazing food, especially almond chicken) but this was just so dry!
It is very expensive to get one dish..Sweet and Sour pork is almost $9!
I would recommend getting the "Make your own Combination" deal is definately the way to go.

Bubble Tea is not the best here..Strawberry tasted a lot like Bubble Gum.

For Bubble Tea..if convient get it here..if not I think go an extra five minutes to Bubble Inn (By Mcdonalds and A&W)

I used to go fairly regularly for lunch. Food was usually ok, hot and fairly inexpensive. Service crappy. The waiter couldn't smile if his life depended on it.

Last time I was there, the food was cold and the chicken balls looked like they were left over from the day before. I complained and my attentive waiter as much as told me what you see is what you get. Haven't been back since and don't plan on it. This is a nice neighbourhood and we deserve better.

This restaurant is in our rotation of restaurants we get take out food from on a regular basis. The food here is usually very good. They do seafood well here. One of my favourite dishes from here is the mixed seafood with pepper salt. The seafood (white fish, shrimp and squid) is coated with a batter that has pepper salt in it and then fried. The seafood is tender and has just the right amount of spiciness. One of my husband's favourites is the mu shu shrimp, which has a light tasty coating and the prawns are tender and juicy.
They also have a Peking Duck dish that is very good. It's 32.95, and consists of two dishes made from one duck - one dish is the skin, which is crispy, which you eat wrapped in a small tortilla like pancake with some hoisin sauce and green onion. The second dish of the Peking Duck is a stirfried mixture with minced duck meat which you eat wrapped in the lettuce they provide.
The only dish I remember having from this place that we did not like was the Dragon Orange Beef - I recall that the beef was a bit tough. Other than this dish, we enjoy the food here, and often order enough to have leftovers the next day.

Best green beans in black bean sauce

Although restaurant needs an overhaul, let's take the plastic off the seats shall we? and the tables need to be better wiped, I appreciated the huge lazy susan on the table that you can put food on and turn to the next person, very handy! the staff is attentive and obviously care if you come back, or like the food...which by the way is the best chinese food in langley! And yes, I have been a true Bamboo Palace fan for 30 years now (changing their name to chop chops?) but recently was subjected to Dragon Palace and have not turned back, unfortunately they do not deliever over the freeway, and since i livin in cloverdale i have to settle for eat in only, but will have to stick to bamboo for delivery - which is good too - but sorry, not as good as dragon (and bamboo doesnt even have green beans on the menu BTW, SNOW PEAS ARE NOT GREEN BEANS!) will definately return to dragon whenever possible!

Tasts Like Nothing!!!

Just moved to the area and tried this place out.....my son could not have said it better. "taste's like nothing" Never, never will I ever eat hear again. It is a place for people with no taste buds, there was nothing to the food. Ordered almond chicken, where are the almonds? Ordered deep fried prawns, the batter was thick and blah. Ordered Prawns/Broccoli/Carrots, got a medly of veggies about 6 or so, was charged $11 and there was mostley bok choy & celery. I think they may have boiled the flavor away. Super expensive for poor food quality and taste.

This is my review and warning of what you can expect of this restaurant.
We had a gathering of 16 people for dim sum on Sunday. We get there only to be told our reservation doesnt exist. We told them we had confirmation weeks ago and they have ignored our issue. Their attitude was too bad so sad.... wait like the other people! Oh yes... they advertised that their dim sum dishes were $2. 50 when in fact only 6 dishes on their menu were that price. The rest were more $$. The ad didnt say " Dim sum $2.50 and UP either!!! Poor poor marketing!! Let's see how long before the crowds run em outta town!
