Cielito Lindo serves authentic home style Mexican and Latin cuisine.
Ive been going to this restaurant for years. it isnt the fanciest looking but the food is fresh and taste good which is important to me. I go there for the giant burro which will fill anyone up and the nachos. These nachos put pub nachos to shame!! i recommend this place to anyone who likes fresh not frozen mexican food. put aside how the restaurant looks and go in there adn try there food.
This place needs to appear on the show "Restaurant Makeover"! The food is authentic and delicious but there is NO ambience. The interior is really old and ugly, hasn't been kept up very well and is generally not all that tiday either. Despite this, the food is good enough that I will go there again and again.
This place has the feel that the person cooking the food actually cares about the food they prepare. Everything tastes fresh and seasoned just right. The aztec soup or tortilla soup is excellent, just the right amount of kick. The pico de gallo is fresh made in house which just adds to the authenticity of this place.
The enchiladas are excellent especially with the green salsa, good all round. Its a family owned establishment with plenty of love put into what they do.
I highly recommend you pay this place a visit.
We had been here a few years ago, and were underwhelmed...
After three VERY positive reviews here (all from 1-review people), we tried it again today.
AFTER lunch time on Sunday, and because another Mexican restaurant just a few doors down was closed, the small place was crammed. Many walk-by customers peeked in, and kept on walking.
Even after making eye-contact with the server as we walked in and claimed the last two-person table, it took forever (and an aggresive "excuse me" ) to even get ther server to take our order.
This is NOT a big space. MAYBE thirty people, crammed in.
After insisting that the server take our order (we'd been sitting unacknowledged for 15 minutes), we then waited and waited and waited. Several younger Hispanic people came rushing in (obviously called in for an emergency )- a full house at 2:00 in the afternoon,) and we finally got our food and later, our drinks.
I ordered Chile Relleno, the Other Half ordered tamales. When the food FINALLY arrived, it was just OK. Both dishes looked like they had been pre-plated and nuked. Quite bland. We had to ask (twice) for hot sauce.
A quick lunch took us well over an hour an a half.
Maybe they were busy because most of the two blocks around were closed on a Sunday. Maybe they were too busy. It was not very satisfactory
This isn't a fancy food place. This is diner style and you need to expect a bit of a cultural change. Our server was not a rocket scientist but pleasant offered a few smiles. The bathroom trip was a scary adventure, but I've seen worse.
The food was delicious and authentic mexican without all the pomp and hype. If you the adventurous type who will try the hole in the wall diner type restaurant, this place is a nice treat.
You don't go here to be seen or to see, but to enjoy the good food at good value.
I decided to do takeout for my lunch break at this little whole in the wall and was pleasantly surprised. My taste buds have not experienced latino food like this before. My burrito was no ordinary burrito. It was so flavorful and huge. I have come back to this little place many times and everytime I try something new I am amazed. If you are looking for value in the quality of flavor and size this is the place to go. It seems to be family run and it shows. They put alotta love into there meals. You gotta see for yourself you will not be disappointed.
I stumbled on this restaurant by accident because another place I generally eat at was closed. I generally order the vegetarian enchiladas, which come with beans and rice. I don't remember what they are called, but I've had the tortilla with cheese which is folded over as well. The salsa is wonderful and tastes authentic and homemade. I'm always satisfied with the food, and next time, when I am feeling adventurous I am going to try the natchos. My only gripe is the "milkshakes", I ordered a chocolate "milkshake" and it didn't seem to have ice cream in it, only milk and ice, not my type of milkshake. However, the person I was with ordered the alcohol sugar soaked desert, and the bite he let me try of that was tasty, wish I had ordered it instead of my milkshake. The place has a overall good energy. Just go somewhere else if you want a chocolate milkshake.
Iv'e been here a couple times with my husband and 2 kids and loved it every time. The Nachos are especially good and loaded with topings not like the cheap ones in various trendy chains that add a little cheese or a little chicken/beef. You can see as soon as you walk in that it's family run and lots of love and care is put into the food they serve. I can never get enough of the cream they have I think it's half whip/sour but can never make it taste as good at home. Definately a wicked spot for cheap but yummy/filling food. Will come back as long as they stay open!
This hole in the wall restaurant used to have great food a few years ago, but today it has gone down hill.
The portions have changed, the taste and the way they plate the meal.
I was very dissapointed to go back there, order my old favourite meal and receive something that I didn't recognize.
When I complained the employees were quite rude.
The ambiance is disgusting. I'm sure it wouldn't take much money to make it look 10 tiems better.
I will not return.
