Voted top Chinese restaurant in Langley for 7 years in a row. Free delivery and 10% discount on pickup orders over $12.
We tried Chop Chop again the other night (pickup,) the girl taking orders at the counter was super friendly and helpful, however the food was not as great as the first time we ordered from the restaurant. My fiancé really enjoyed the almond chicken and dry garlic pork again, the mushroom chow mien was also really good. We ordered the Cashew Nuts Gai Ding (without the chicken - basically veggies and cashews) and received Almond Gai Ding, which was rather uninspiring, sauce was bland and veggies were boring (mostly just celery and carrots.) We really did not enjoy the Egg Rolls, the filling was almost slimy. The black bean sauce was awesome, garlicky and really flavorful. Not sure if I would eat at Chop Chop again as a vegetarian, but for meat eaters, it's been consistently great!
I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion as are the last 2 reviewers, no matter how wrong they are. We have been going to Chop Chop for years and never had a bad meal. Always ready when we arrive to pick up. Always hot and tasty. Of course its Candian style Chinese food. Most Chinese restaurants are. Duh.
We have had Chinese food from many different places and I can honestly say, it is not the best I have ever eaten, but it's by far not the worst! Perhaps you people should go try Ming & Sing. Might be more your cup of tea.
As for the free dish, most people don't realize, over $25 it's a free dish, or the discount on pick up. It does say it on the menu. I prefer the discount as the dinner for 4 is more than enough to feed my family.
I guess the best way to decide is just to try it yourself. The majority of us here find the food to be very good, but there's no pleasing everyone.
If you consider fatty pork coated in soggy batter tasty then this I'd the place to go. On the other hand if you appreciate good tasting carefully prepared food then go elsewhere. I gave this place so many chances but I quit ordering from here after repeatedly recieving poor food. Another thing they never do is offer you the free menu items you get when you order over a certain amount. I always had to ask. The overall impression i get from here is that they don't care what comes out of the kitchen. The delivery person was very friendly though.
This was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Ever.
The fried rice was dark brown and tasted of the grill and actually smelled kind of like gasoline.
The chop-suey had a think white paste of corn-starch and water trying to pretend it was a flavourful sauce. (It was not). The spring rolls literally dripped with fryer grease and were so over cooked they didn't even have a crunch to them, that's pretty hard to do with spring rolls. The chow mein was mystery meat with a grease ball of noodles underneath. Gross, just pure "eeeecccchhhh".
We didn't even finish our meal and if I had a dog, I wouldn't even feed this to it.
The other reviewers on here either have never tasted Chinese food (and this is americanized Chinese - not even real Chinese), or have no tongues. It's pretty hard to screw up this bad and this close to so much good Chinese food. I cannot believe this place has gotten a decent review, it should be shut down it's that bad.
My husband and I order take out from Chop Chop on a regular basis. The food has always been well cooked, hot upon delivery, and very good.
We especially enjoy the free dish offer once the order reaches $25. Although that has never been offered to us while placing the order, we read about it on the menu and always remember to tell them what dish we have will have free from the options; it is always chicken chow mein.
I would recommend everyone try Chop Chop at least once.
I'm giving a rating of 5 stars. 5 stars for the well cooked food, food that is piping hot upon delivery, food that is delicious every time, and we appreciate the free dish!
This is by far the best chinese food I have eaten!! Everything tastes like what it is ... chow mein tastes like chow mein, rice like rice.. so often you get food that all tastes like the same but this food is great! I even took a huge order over the border last month because my friends told me how terrible their's is... they wouldn't stop ranting and raving at how delicious it was!!
It keeps me coming back that's for sure! There are sometimes long wait times but I guess that's the price you pay for eats this good... just be sure to order early I guess!
The staff is always pleasant too!
Thanks Chop Chop!
Always hot and fresh, prices are low, feeds family of 4 for $25 plus you get a free dish when you order. Ordered take out about 10 times, usually happy with service and quality. They get the order right, well prepared, good quality.
A couple times the food was warm as though it was sitting for a while and the chop suey sauce was like watery glue, sticky-pastey snot-like consistency. Threw it away, very unappetizing, couldn't eat it based on the look, made me want to vomit. With that order we happened to get a free order of a chicken dish (in addition to the free entree you get with each order). Maybe the chef knew it wasn't his best work and threw in an extra freebie.
Quality depends on when you order. Best cook seems to work weekends, first time we ordered thru the week it was nasty.
Not recommended for dine in if you want a fancy restaurant. Food is great but the restaurant dining area is like a tiny diner.
Overall happy with food and prices.
I have been going to this restaurant for years and while they've made a few mistakes with my order in the past, the manager has always solved the problem quickly. I usually place my order when I get there because I enjoy talking with the friendly girls that take my order. The restaurant is always busy but they maintain friendly service and keep the restaurant clean even though they are mainly take out.
The food is always amazing! It has great flavor and is always fresh and hot. My favorite dish is the ginger beef - this dish was recommended to me by one of the staff and I have ordered it every time since!
Overall, I think this restaurant is great because they really appreciate their customers and try hard to please them. The portions may be slightly smaller than other Chinese restaurants but at least it is quality food. I'd much rather pay for quality than quantity.
I have never sat down to eat here, but have either picked up food or have had it delivered.
The restaurant has a lot to be desired as far as decor, the food is great, but the delivery service is sub-par, and the take out is hit and miss.
I have gone to pick up my food at the time I was told it would be ready, to find out they hadn't started cooking it yet. The delivery service is also hit and miss, first time delivery took 40 minutes, the next time 2 hours and three phone calls.
