Boston Pizza offers a casual dining atmosphere with over 100 menu items including a selection of pizzas, pastas and a wide variety of appetizers, meal-sized salads, entrees and desserts. The restaurant also has plenty of big screen TVs to catch the big game.
Game 5 was approaching and having no time to make it back to Vancouver we beat the rush and hung around Langley, making our way here ahead of the influx.
My gf and I dug into the BP standards of wings, the thick cut potatoes and the bacon cheeseburger pizza. We decided on the baked variety of wings which lacked the crispier skin but retained the juices even better, though it seemed to make the salt and pepper cling far better than wanted. The thick cut potatoes were about as simple as you can get and made for great snacking with the side dip bringing some heat if plain wasn't your thing. The pizza was BP's usual, though the mushrooms at the bottom left the crust a little soggy.
There seemed to be a lot of really young staff working here; we were seated at our table by one who looked like they were 14yrs old and a few other that also looked like they were still in highschool. We had a couple of servers take us the rest of the way, with the service improving even further with our second one. Pretty impressive to say the least.
Though I doubt I'd make my way out here too often, this is easily one of the best overall BPs I've been to.
Made a delivery on a thursday evening and was quoted 45 - 1 hour wait. It wasnt untill an hour and a half later that I called them to see where our food was and it hadn't even left the restaurant. How bad is that. Had we been quoted the actual time frame that we waited we would have just gone to another location. Very disappointed in this location.
After a short wait, our order waqs taken by Jon, very personable, not put on. Our drinks came quickly, my querry's about seasonings answered. Our order taken quickly, and with the resteraunt as busy as it seemed to be, our meals came quickly. As promised my Meator was seasoned to perfection. The other order was Strombolli and was seasoned perfectly and a great value for the price. Jon was at our table checking on things at the appropriate times ensuring all was well, and our dining experience was all it could be. Thanks to the staff.
The restaurant smelled like puke, i'm not sure if they used dirty mop water or someone had puked somewhere. We only stayed because I was starving. :/ The food was decent, I just stay with safe things like appetizers, pizza and burgers. If the restaurant smelled the same next time we would not stay.
The pizza menu was pretty much the same as every other BP I think. So the pizza was crispy, a little overdone but good OK. We had beer and the taste was strong and the glasses sparkly clean but wouldn't go for seconds to be frank there were kids running around and then in their booth making noise and the parents were not making any attempt to subduing them. The waitress wasn't much to look at, they do have alcohol and big screen TVs tuned to the right channels (sports) but then the waitress is careless about her appearance and kids are taking control of the place. I don't get it and I suppose won't come back.
The food is, on average, decent. That is about all you can expect from BP. It is rarely ever spectacular, but it is sometimes quite poor. Our group had the Hawaiian pizza and the spaghetti, which you would think would be good since those two dishes are probably the most popular. The crust on the pizza was dry, but the pizza tasted good otherwise. The spaghetti had such a small amount of sauce that we asked them to add more sauce which the waitress was somewhat reluctant to do.
I find the service quite hit and miss. It really depends on the server and which section you're sitting in. It was a quite night and the servers were hard to flag down.
My friend described the place as a glorified Denny's with a semi-sports theme. I think that was pretty harsh but I can see why she would say that. But I think while the experience is not spectacular, BP has a place in our community. The guys can go and have a pitcher while watching the game. The families can take their kids along and everyone can find something they want to eat.
Great place to watch a canucks game or dinner with the family. The service is always good, esepically this one server named Fred, who we coincidetially had as our server a few times in a row. A very welcoming, polite and overall nice guy, The food has that classic Boston Pizza flare, that you love and the service makes you want to come back for more!
Oven roasted wings, excellent, the beer specials were great. And the bartender was great. the 6 of us had a great time. The waitress Sam, was so much fun. We were there for Monday Night Football and is was great. They need new Monitors and they are coming soon. See you next Monday!!!
