Located in the Coast Capri Hotel, The Vintage Room offers seasonal menus which are inspired by the flavors of the Okanagan, artisanal foods and the availability of local harvest.
I went here with my sisters on our last day of visiting together. The atmosphere is quiet and subdued; starting with the furnishings, right up to the level of noise in the place. There were a number of tables occupied but we could easily speak and hear each other. A nice change. I wouldn't have expected to find a restaurant like this here.
We all ordered something different off the menu and were all very pleased with our respective choices. I had a roasted cauliflower soup that was superb. It was done in a turkey broth and reminded me of my mom's turkey dinners with all the trimmings - not bad for soup. Then the surf-turf which was very good: not something I usually order because my husband cooks a better steak than most places, however I was pleasantly surpised.
The service was outstanding: I am always impressed when my water is refilled but I can't recall having it refilled.
We had nice wine, great conversation and a fabulous meal. A really great way to end our limited visit.
If you are looking for a nice quiet place to enjoy a really good meal - this is it. We will definitely be going back.
