As I walked in to the Swiss Chalet in South Common at 11:30 am on a weekday there was no one at the desk so I waited. A lady came out and asked if someone had helped me yet and I said 'No' and I said table for one. She checked her map and said 'this way' and as I was following her to my table she stopped halfway and saw a lady with a young child sitting there and asked if someone had helped her and the lady said 'No'; the hostess then turned to me and said ' you can take a table in our lounge' and turned to the lady with the young child and said 'this way'.

If I wanted a table in the lounge then I would have just walked into the lounge. I figured at 11:30 am on a weekday it would not be busy yet so I wanted a table in the dining room.

The hostess should have said I will be right back to sit you after I sit this lady with the young child and I would have understood since she was here first. Or the hostess should have asked me if I didn't want to wait I could take a table in the lounge.

I just felt that the hostess didn't handle this situation as well as I would have liked her to so I turned around and just left and haven't been back to a Swiss Chalet.
