The Common is a gastro-lounge where you will find a menu of refined pub and comfort foods. The scratch kitchen offers seasonal, creative menus. Offering a fine selection of craft, local and imported beers as well as an innovative mix of herbal, vintage and modern cocktails, spirits and wines.
Call me old fashioned, but I’ve been to The Common mostly for lunch. I went this time for dinner with the SO and wasn’t displeased. As you can imagine, I was a little apprehensive to begin due to the fact that this place is considered trendy and hip.
And yes, the scene was mainly young people but they kept to themselves and were well-behaved. On this visit, we didn’t eat much, just shared a couple of appetizers and cocktails. I would recommend a couple of things on their menu though, such as the pork belly wraps, truffle popcorn and poutine. If I lived closer, I'd frequent it more often.
