I was a witness to one of the rudest things I have ever seen from a business. I eat lunch at this food court quite often and see a lot of army members stop by for lunch here. They are always friendly and take pictures with children. One day one army member went to buy his lunch from this Jimmy the Greek location and the lady that works her (do not know her name but she wears a hijab) was taking his order and as she was doing this she gave him the most disgusted look and said 'what does your uniform even mean' The army member responded with 'I work with the Canadian armed forces maam' and then I saw this lady give him an even more disgusted look and throw his plate onto his tray in the ruddest manner possible.
You live in a country that is welcoming of all these different religions, and regardless of what your political views are the least you can do is show respect to the people that fight for you to be able to live in this country in peace. The army members are willing to risk their lives in order for us to have those freedoms and it is very disheartening to see this kind of behaviour. I will NEVER support any of the Jimmy the Greek locations again and will be posting this review in as many places as possible so people know what kind of rude employees they have. What a SHAME!
We had eaten here before and the food was “ok”. We tried to eat here again and parked in the parking lot. There’s a gastro pub across the street. Our intention was to look at the menu next door, because neither of us had seen it and we were merely curious what they had to offer. Our intention not eat at the gatro pub, hence where we parked. We had pizza on our mind.
As we were leaving the parking lot, an angry old man came up to us and asked us if we had read the sign, saying only customers of Plato’s can park there. I responded yes, that we were going to eat at Plato’s and would be back in a couple of minutes. He then told us not to bother coming back and to move our car. I promised him if we didn’t come back in 5 minutes he could have us towed, to provide him assurance that we were in fact planning to eat there. I thought that if he thought we were lying to him that that would calm him down a bit, because he was extremely hostile. He more or less then told us off, then proceeded to follow us into the restaurant across the street. When I asked for the menu, he left and told us he was going to piss on our car.
I looked at the menu, as planned, for future reference, then proceeded to go back to Plato’s. When we went inside he started yelling at us to leave and refused to serve us. The waitress then also asked us to leave and to talk to her outside. Once outside we tried to explain the whole thing to the waitress, but she’d have none of it either, telling us to leave and not to come back.
This is NOT a place you want to go, with a significant other, family or friends. The hostility and rudeness of the staff is concerning, especially considering that the food here is mediocre. I’m not sure if it’s dementia or just an anger management problem, but we certainly will never consider going here again.
I live close to this Second Cup and also the one over by Meadowlark Mall but I only go to the Signature Place Second Cup due to the cleanliness of the place, the friendly caring staff and also the outstanding owner, this Second Cup is also called "MY SECOND HOME" as this is the only place I will go to even if it for take away or to sit and chat among the friendly people who go there or the caring staff hats off to each and everyone of you!!!
Absolutely the best night out in a while. The Food was absolutely incredible and full of flavor and our waitress was even better, never left us wondering where she was when we needed something. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good place to go!!!!!!
Have to say I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant. This place has nothing but poor service and dirty utensils. We got to the restaurant and the hostess seated us almost right away. When we sat down and started to look at the menu, we noticed right off the bat the all 3 of our water glasses had chunks of food stuck to them, and the cutlery wasn't clean as well. We waited over 10 minutes without even having someone take our drink order or checking in on us, infact we couldn't even find a waitress anywhere in the room. We proceeded to leave our table, and as we were leaving the hostess who 10 minutes earlier seated us asked us how our meal was. All we could say was what meal..... we didn't receive any service!!! WOULD NOT recommended this location!!!! Sorentino's however... is a must!
This location has been renovated a bit and the ambiance is nice. I like the food specials and happy hour pricing. Staff are friendly. Big screen and lots of tvs to watch the games too.
I was here the other night and had a great time out with my friends. I'm looking forward to the future ladies nights coming up on Saturdays :)
i come here everyday and they mess my order on a daily basis, then i bring it back and the manager gets mad at me for no reason. im a decent person who likes tim hortons but something gotta happen here, as well they dont mention when they dont have something in stock so they change my order without telling me and give me something cheaper but still paid full price for it.
They totally ripped me off! My first time ordering from there and the delivery was 1.5 hr wait. I decided to drive and pick it up. Half hour later I show up and the lady looks at the order and adds $3.00 on top of the price they gave us on the phone, whatever, I grabbed my boxes drive back home and I forgot one of the pizzas. So we phone back explaining what happened only to get told the guy who took our order left and if we want another pizza we gotta pay full price. That was it...too bad too late. So now we gotta order the kids pizza from a different place and wait another 1/2hr. Everyone needs to know what kinda greasy place this is cause thats not right.
Call me old fashioned, but I’ve been to The Common mostly for lunch. I went this time for dinner with the SO and wasn’t displeased. As you can imagine, I was a little apprehensive to begin due to the fact that this place is considered trendy and hip.
And yes, the scene was mainly young people but they kept to themselves and were well-behaved. On this visit, we didn’t eat much, just shared a couple of appetizers and cocktails. I would recommend a couple of things on their menu though, such as the pork belly wraps, truffle popcorn and poutine. If I lived closer, I'd frequent it more often.
I was visiting Edmonton from out-of-town and we had gone to a very expensive buffet which I did not want to be at as it would have cost us too much to eat there. My sister-in-law recommended Chili's.
The wait staff, Tasana, was awesome. She memorized all of our orders without writing anything down (I found that amazing!), filled our drink orders quickly, and was quick to check and see if we needed more drinks and also how the food was.
I have eaten at Chili's in Calgary and find that the service is okay. The food is okay and I am okay about going there.
However, it was nice to have management care about us as a group. We were seated at a booth that was not comfortable for us. We were then quickly moved to another section of the restaurant. Tasana introduced herself and I can say without hesitation that I would back there in a second.
Overall, for me, excellent experience and rate this restaurant worth going to.

Let me start by saying that we are regular customers. Some days it is just too easy to call for delivery instead of cooking something fresh and tasty. I also want to say that on average they screw up our order about 50% of the time. I don't bother calling in to complain when they forget the garlic toast. I don't complain when they forget the guacamole, my wife's favourite side.
Tonight Boston Pizza set a new record in lows for a company. The fact that their new call centre makes one wonder why they don't have more than one person answering phones on a Friday night is just beyond words. Six months ago your call would be answered within 5 minutes on a bad day. Now you wait for 10, 15 minutes if you are lucky.
Tonight I didn't learn that the call centre was also part of the debacle that happened tonight. Every time you call BP to place an order for delivery, they tell you that they will deliver within an hour. Tonight an hour after placing the order I received a call from the driver saying that he has had an issue and would be about 10 minutes late. Okay, no problem. Twenty-five minutes later, I call the call centre to see what happened. No food. While I am on with the call centre, the driver shows up. Yes, I am angry but I am not going to take it out on the driver. I am talking to the call centre. The woman that I am talking to puts me on hold to talk to the store manager... after 5 minutes that felt like 15 to me and two hours to the delivery guy, the woman from the call centre picks up and says, "Are you still holding?" now you would think that if you asked a question, you would wait to get an answer. Nope, I was back on hold before I could say a word. Okay, done with the call centre.
I call the restaurant and ask to speak to the manager. His name is Jamar. Oh, were we late with your order? Are you not happy with our service? Well, I guess we can issue you a credit on your next order. Next order??? It is less than likely that I will be ordering from them again so how does that help me? Can he give me a discount? Nope, and while my wife, in the middle of a low blood sugar attack decides to just pay the delivery guy, Jamar tells me that I can call and complain on Monday to the manager but he really can't do anything. How can Boston Pizza make things right for me tonight? In Jamar's words, they can't. Since it was Boston pizza at fault, why should I have to call into them to tell them how disappointed and disgusted I am. I tell Jamar that I want his manager Andy to call me. Companies that offer good customer service have their manager call the customer to apologize. They don't expect the customer to have to track down the manager.
Okay, I've had enough. I hang up the phone and go to my very cold meal that I ordered had had a major wait to get.... and it isn't what I ordered. I call the restaurant. Jamar doesn't want to come to the phone. After waiting 5 minutes, I give up and call the call centre again. I tell the woman that answers the issues that I had up to this point and ask her what their system shows my order to be. I had ordered the chicken mushroom fettuccine and boston's lasagna. The guy repeats it back to me. When the food comes.... two fettuccines.... So not only does the restaurant screw up, this order was doomed from the beginning...
I eat it and I would have to say, it had the flavour of cardboard.
My suggestion: don't order from Boston Pizza. They don't care what they deliver. They don't care about customer service. They have no quality control. They just don't care.
Curry Corner is probably the best Indian restaurant in Edmonton. I have been to most of the Indian restaurants in Edmonton but none of them compare to the quality of food and service.
I am not much into seafood but their shrimp butter masala is delicious. Their butter chicken is quite good as well, despite the ratio of sauce to chicken. The quality of the ingredients and freshness of the food is what makes this place stand out. When I am too lazy to drive, I order take-out from them and still get the same level of good as if I were to dine in.
Why has no one reviewed this place before?
Cafe Del Sol is one of the rare and few authentically Mexican food places in Edmonton. Don’t let the fact that it is in a small strip mall fool you. It is usually full, and you'll find lots of local Mexican families eating there. There is a significant wait before one gets one's food, but the chips and salsa appease the waiting. The stuffed potato skins here are delicious, but the best are the tacos. My personal favorite is the carnitas. I usually go for two because the pork is so good.
Dining at Donair’s is always a pleasant experience. You eat like a king here. Just like the name suggests, they serve donairs here. I am yet to find another place that has better, meatier, jucier donairs. The beef donair is my favorite, but if you are not into that, they also have other things to serve, like burgers and pizza. It can sound a bit like a turn off, but the pizzas are actually quite tasty and fresh (they are made at the restaurant). The beef pepperoni and mushroom pizza is great.
I wonder why no-one has reviewed this place before.
Marble Slab Creamery is an ice cream and dessert place. The ice cream served here is alright, but a little over-priced in my opinion. I mean, the bowl that the ice cream comes in are pretty small! The only good thing is that the choices you have are endless. You have full control of how you want your ice-cream to be. You can choose everything, from what flavours your ice cream will have to the toppings. And the employee will make it right in front of you. You'll never get bored here. Besides ice-cream, they have good cakes here. I usually get cakes for special occasions from here, as they are made consistently good.
Glenora has its own charm; it is located in the bottom floor of a bed and breakfast. As you can imagine, it has very simple yet inviting interiors.
What I like about this place is that you can get no-nonsense (or unpretentious breakfast) here. I usually show up for brunch and get the eggs benedict, french toast or scambled eggs. The bison burger is as good as it gets. Breakfast items are available up until 2pm, which is a plus. The service is also great, the servers are really nice people and do their job well: they are quite fast in bringing you your food and never forget to refill your cup.
How hard is it to make a strawberry blizzard with chocolate chunks?? They never get it right. Ever. They take the order repeated 3 times and still don't get it right. It is a very simple order. They seem to mess it up every time.
This is the coffee shop that I first met my fiance'. Everything was fine that first time, and we went back a couple times and things were OK. I decided to propose to my lady there, as it is a special spot to us. The staff was not only unhelpful- they were almost spiteful! Proposing is a pretty rattling thing as is, and so much worse when people are in the opposite corner. First off, I could tell she wasn't happy that I was decorating the front area with flowers- even though the shop was nearly empty. I was planning on singing to my (then) girlfriend, so I also requested to have the music turned off right before she arrived. They not only left the music on, but they even turned it up halfway through my proposal! I found this incredibly rude, and it definitely (in my mind) tainted my proposal- something that was unbelievably important to me. What I don't get is that they not only got all of the business I brought in, but free advertising as well! I'm super disappointed in them, and even though the spot is special to us, I don't think we'll ever go back- to any second cup for that matter.
There were 7 people dining including ourselves, yet it took forever to get served, there was no coffee cream on the table, no sweetener, the waitress mixed up the order, gave my meal to someone else, gave me food that I didn't ask for, and wouldn't refill my son's tiny little Apple juice glass. Ridiculous. I gave absolutely no tip, which she seemed upset with. I shouldn't have paid at all.
I've been here a few times and the first couple of times were okay but nothing too remarkable. This time I had the southern fried chicken which is $20.00 for what is supposed to be half a chicken. I figured I'd eat half of it and take the other half home. I buy a whole chicken from the grocery store every week, and I know how many meals you can make from a chicken. What came was absolutely not half a chicken. There was a wing and a drumstick and then two larger pieces which I thought at first would be the thigh and breast. NOT. Both of those pieces were mostly bones and a lot of skin and approximately one bite of breast meat on each piece. They obviously cut part of the back into two pieces and tried to pass that off as real parts of the chicken. For $20.00 it was a huge rip-off. So that was the first problem.
The second thing wrong was that the coating wasn't very flavourful, it was quite bland. Even some salt would have helped. The gravy was thick and gluey; overall it was just terrible. It was absolutely the worst fried chicken I've ever had in my life. The beans and the coleslaw that came with it though were very good.
My partner ordered the seafood jambalaya and it was also very bland and mostly all rice with a very small amount of seafood. Again, $20 for a dish that is 95% flavourless, bland rice is a huge rip-off. As much as I like the atmosphere of the place, the food and the money that you pay for it is just not worth coming back for.
