Rose and Crown Pub & Bistro features great food and atmosphere, daily specials, Keno, Pull Tabs, big screen TVs, live bands on weekends and other entertainment.
We wanted to have brunch on a padio somewhere close to home. We chose Rose and Crown. The place was packed when we walked in. The food looked decent going to customers so we ordered. The food was really late and it seemed like we were left behind. The padio was so loud we had ringing ears from the bustle of the street to everyone shouting to be understood on the padio and we musicians tolerate loudness...When we recieved our food the quantity for the money was shabby. Poor servings. I bit into my hash browns and they tasted stale like they have been sitting out under a heat lamp for 3 hours. My breakfast wrap was unedible. I have never experienced a menu item I just couldn't get down. Horrible experience. Right down to the rickards red pint I ended my meal with. An instant hangover. Their pipes are so dirty. I had more enjoyable food and service at the Cambie and that's a real dive. Don't eat here. It's a rip of and unhealthy for you. Ruined my day(s).
Went this weekend to watch a noon European qualifier soccer game, they were good enough to show it without a cover charge unlike most Vancouver pubs. The food was great, my son had the Huntsman Breakfast that was huge, I had an omlette from the omlette bar, the chef makes it in front of your eyes and there's a choice of about 15 ingredients.....have as many as you like. Very tasty and a bargain at $8.95. Its a shame BC's crazy liquor laws do not allow under 19s in at this time of the day. When will we wake up and get in line with the rest of the world?
The R&C have a new side restaurant that has just opened (the Metro) so will have to try that soon.
I have been visiting the Rose & Crown Pub for many years as I have family that lives in Tsawwassen. Generally I really liked this pub, and wished we had one like it in my town. The last few years the pub has provided good food, fun atmosphere and amazing service - the service is what kept me coming back. The servers were fast, witty, and full of personality. Or, it used to be. This past year I have been there on 3 occasions, and all three visits I was provided with mediocre service. It was slow, incorrect, and apathetic. Most of the staff looked like they didn't want to be there. I was under the impression that the management hired servers for their personality, but apparently that isn't the case anymore. I'm really disappointed that this great little pub's standards have so quickly declined. No more recommendations from me.
I am always impressed when at the Rose and Crown. The servers are always attentive and the food is consistent. It's a great place to have a fundraiser. The Manager goes out of her way to find items to auction off for you cause. In my point of view, the best pub in town!
I've been to this pub 3 times...and was ignored each time. The service is absolutely terrible. The food was good, no problems there, but if you'd like to eat and have a couple drinks within a few hours, don't bother.
it's great place if you are smoker, hockeyfan, tight jeanswearing, still got 80's haircut. But suprisingly, food there is quite nice. i go there for the food and get out as soon as possible. this is the place for 'not so doing well tsawwassen-rites"
