The food is always outstanding!!! Always hot and Delicious!! Granted I almost always order the exact same things over the years, its always better then before. The new ruby special chicken is my favorite dish ever! We even have to get 2 orders of it, not worth fighting! Everything always has enough sauce and very flavorful!

Overall Chinese food just isn't good in Delta/Surrey which means restaurants that would otherwise have failed thrive here. We sometimes cave and order a main dish here just to check if improvements have been made but nope most main dishes are basically inedible, either too salty, or just tastes off on the palate. The veggies are so overcooked they are mushy. They also don't peel the carrots which I dislike. Why the three stars then? Their noodle dishes are excellent. Oddly enough the service here is really good as well, the servers are cheerful and friendly and they don't charge extra if you add ingredients to their dishes.

We love it here. The food is hot and fresh and very tasty. We have never had a bad experience here. Service there is outstanding, more like going to a good friends house for awesome food. We especially love the beef and ginger hot pot, pan fried prawns and curried chicken. My kids love going here because they get spoiled by the staff.

I've been coming here for years.

Food rating: Let's get this straight: the New Ruby is a Western (e.g. Canadianized) Chinese food restaurant. While it certainly has some authentic Chinese dishes -- indeed, most of the menu is devoted to them -- most of the clientel consists of highly assimilated people (white and Chinese both) and so the set menus, for example, feature Westernized dishes for Western palates. They also serve burgers and such. That said, the dishes are generally of a very high quality - msg is absent from all the food except the springrolls, vegetables are crisp, noodles springy, and all things well-seasoned.

Service: The service is outstanding and it is here New Ruby shines; the staff, which consists of a mixture of Chinese people, first Nations and white folks are familial and extremely pleasant. They're extremely polite, attentive but unintrusive, and very pleasant people and I have never had poor service. Food delivery is prompt generally and complaints and requests are rapidly addressed.

Value: Most dishes are 8-12 dollars. That said, set menus feature incredibly generous portions at a reasonable price. The "Lunch Combo" is probably the best value -- any two dishes plus spring roll for $7, with the servings each being half a dinner plate, and about 10 dishes to choose from (western favourites, mostly). Extremely filling, freshly cooked and yet very prompt, great for when you're busy.

the worst chinese food that I ever had!!!

Being new to North Dela my fiancee and I decide to try out this place based on the reviews posted here. We ordered food for delivery. It was the worst chinese food we ever had. We ordered chicken chow mein and ginger beef. The chicken chow mein had no flavour and very little chicken or anything else in it except noodles all stuck toghether. The ginger beef did not taste like there was any ginger in it and came in this weird brown sauce that did not taste like much. We actually ended up not finishing our plates and throwing out the rest of the food.
