Excellent sushi!

We are regular customers of Mt. Fuji and enjoy the sushi immensely. It's always so fresh and wonderfully prepared. I love the wild salmon as I am not fond of farmed. Michael is an amazing sushi chef producing an incredible amount of sushi in a very short time. Always a smiling face and great conversation. Thank you, Michael and Tiffany.

best sushi in town

I take some small degree of umbrage at the last posters comments. Michael is nothing but polite and a fabulous sushi maker. He is very busy at lunch with the highschool crowd, and as there are at least 3 other sushi restaurants in the vicinity and knowing how discerning teenagers are that is high praise.

The food is always fresh and fast. We eat in or take out weekly.

Michael is a gracious host who always remembers something personal about your family.
The food has always been fresh and very well presented.
We like to eat in and take away several times a month.
This is my girls' favourite sushi place in Ladner and we have been to all of them!

Not so good

I will start by saying the owners are so very nice and friendly. Sadly the food was not so good.
I had the bento box a with avocado roll subed in for the california roll.
The gyoza's tasted like they had been microwaved, and the rolls had a very fishy smell and I had not fish.
The chicken teryaki was so dry and very little sauce to help make it easier to eat.
Rainbow crab, sadly was felt ill after we ate there,,
we will not return..

Newly Renovated, Excellent Food, and Great Service!

Michael are Tiffany, the owners, are such nice great people. They have outstanding memories to remember each and every customer's name and what they normally order! Since being renovated the interior seating is very comfortable and cozy, and everything looks professional and top notch. They have a small TV to show sports and other events as an added bonus. The food as always is excellent and I've been eating here for over 5 years. High quality fresh seafood and prepared right in front of your eyes makes it taste even that much better! Give it a try, there's nothing to lose... I bet you'll like it.

Not Japanese

Apparently the owners are not actually Japanese; they just speak Japanese. I've been here once and it was OK. Kinda had a feel of fast food and you can always tell a japanese restaurant on their gyoza... Lots of places have these nasty plump ones and the more delicate ones are way tastier/fresh. Meh, it is alright. I would go here rather than Maguro or any other place in Ladner.

I highly recommend Mt. Fuji as an outstanding place to dine. I have been a regular customer for many years. The service, and friendly staff have always welcomed me back. Michael is a great sushi chef, with a talent to remember each customer and what their likes and dislikes are. He has always taken note of that and sincerely welcomes new faces regularly. The food is excellent. I have always loved the quality and portion sizes.Staff is always friendly and prompt no matter how busy they are.

Great Sushi

We had a last minute guest show up and we picked up some take out from this restaurant. The food was fresh and flavorful with great customer service and descent prices. The restaurant is centrally located, holds better hours of operation than the other local sushi restaurants and offers a wide variety to their menu. We had take out, but the ambiance seemed quaint and clean. The take out food was well packaged and far larger portions than we had expected. Being a local Ladner resident we're a kicking ourselves for not trying this place sooner.

I love this restaurant. It's right in the middle of a busy shopping area and it's a great place to drop in for some unpretentious lunch. The food is good and reasonably priced and comes out of the prep area quickly. You can watch him make it if you sit at the bar. The staff is very nice and friendly and your tea cup is never empty.

My family have been going to Mt. Fuji for years. Micheal and his wife are true professionals. All the food we have eaten is fresh and well prepared. The service even when it is busy is freindly and prompt. We dine there (eat in or take out) at least once a month,. They are part of the community and are 2 very caring and genuine people. We don't go any where else for sushi and are never dissapointed!

Great sushi

The Japanese couple that run this restaurant are real pros - the food is excellent and so is the service. My friend from Victoria - who frequents many sushi restaurants - says this is the best sushi she's ever had. The teriyaki tofu is especially good - nowhere else I've been makes as good.

Disappointed

Submitted Wednesday, October 1, 2008 - 2:19pm [Dine in]

I have lived in Ladner my entire life and decided to try Mt. Fuji sushi today. I was disappointed. The food was OK, but there are better sushi restaurants in the immediate vicinity that charge the same or less. The california rolls were small and there was not much flavor. I arrived before the high school crowd to place a take out order, and was asked to wait while the waitress took an order from some other customers. Then the phone rang, then another set of customers came in...I felt like I was more a nuisance than a customer. The phone customer had his order placed before mine, even though I was waiting to place an order. All in all, I will probably not be going back, unless I want sushi on a Sunday, as this is the only sushi restaurant open on Sundays in Ladner.

Bad Customer Service
By tigers123 of Vancouver (1 Review)
Submitted Tuesday, August 5, 2008 - 1:45pm [Dine in]

went there for lunch with a few friends. received our food quickly, however the quality of the food was extremely poor, asked the waitress to take back rolls because there was little filling and some didnt even have anything in it. she took it back to the cook who then told us that we had to eat it and would not make us a new one. came back with a cut up avacado and put it in the table and told us to make it ourself. didnt eat any handed it back thought that was very rude. went to pay and they charged me for the food i sent back and then pointed at my face and yelled at me saying i ordered it and should pay for it. i have never been treated so bad in my life and will never go back there again. i also found 3 peices of hair in my food a while back and continued on going back because after the first incident they took the plate and made me a new one. he then brought up that i sent back my food months ago and said all i do is go there and complain and said that infront of the entire restaurant. i was humiliated and extremely upset. it is really hard to keep this review up because they keep removing it but i think everyone should know what they did because it was extremely shocking that someone could treat their customers so bad.
