A Greek/Mediterranean restaurant that has been around for as long as anyone can remember. Owned by a lovely Greek couple who are active in the business, ensuring consistency and excellence in everything that leaves the kitchen.
I went there with a party of 13 and we were placed into two tables which completely separated the group from interacting with one another. I have lost my voice that night so I have asked for hot water and honey. What I received was just hot water. Okay that was fine... at least it was hot. When the waitress came back again, she asked both tables if we needed anything else. Being vegetarian, I asked her what are the vegetarian pasta choices they have. She explained she can make the pasta vegetarian. I said, "Okay, Sure!" and she left. I waited for a good 30 minutes, but the food still didn't arrive. My friends told me their food took a while to come as well, so I waited so more. Later, friend beside me ordered zucchini sticks. Her zucchini sticks arrived before mine! I asked the waitress who brought her the zucchini sticks (who wasn't our original waitress) if there was a vegetarian pasta coming. She said she'll go ask about it. Minutes later, our original waitress came. She said "I didn't understand what you were saying. You only said oh okay. I didn't know you wanted to order."
I was a bit speechless. There was no "Sorry" or "I misunderstood" or whatsoever. I mean, if she thought I wasn't ready to order, why didn't she come back to ask "have you decided on what you wanted to order?" She could have at least lied about it. Putting blame on customers is extremely poor customer service.
I regret giving them a tip. Never am I going back there again.
Visited friends in Delta they took us to this restaurant, Really nice family style restaurant, Staff seemed friendly it took a while for our food to come out but i think preparation takes time but it wasnt slow or anything
really liked it even kids loved their meal and my friend and his wife is a big fan of this restaurant
now we are too hope they stay classy
We love the food there. We enjoy the family atmosphere, the hanging plants, the Greek pictures, vases and figurines. It's a place where you can let go of the stress of the day and enjoy a great meal with pleasant Greek background music. All dishes are plentiful, served with Greek salad, rice and potato with a delicious lemony flavour. The pita bread is fresh baked, soft and yummy. Our family has enjoyed the wonderful food at reasonable prices many times. The waitresses have changed over the years, but the owners and the main staff remain the same. We have always felt welcome by their friendly greetings and pleasant service, whether the restaurant was busy or not. We have been there when the walk-in was easy and also when we had to wait for a while in a line-up at the door. It was worth the wait. Their restrooms are meticulously clean, parking is easy. We continue to recommend this restaurant to all of our friends.
Good but not great Greek food. Plenty of parking around the side and back of the restaurant, and often no reservations needed, simply drop in. Always had their lamb, and never been disappointed. Service varies depending upon how busy the restaurant is, however never had a rude server. Overall a pleasant dining experience.
I can't remember service this bad. We ordered our meal and a drink firstoff, we ordered a large greek salad at 10 bucks yet the server failed to inform us that our meals both came with greek salad. For the duration of the meal we were completely ignored....and i mean completely!
I went to the bar section to ask for a glass of water and the server passed me a glass and said "there".
On completion of the meal when i saw the server i asked for our bill and then proceeded to complain. I asked if it were customary at this restaurant to completely ignore the customer. For the first time in my entire adult life i left no tip (i normally tip 15-30%).
I feel the ignorance may have possibly been the presence(who was well-behaved) but if this is the case please take the "family" part off your sign outside.
I had the lamb, my wife had chicken souvlaki, the food was good
I've been a long time customer at this restaurant (5 yrs ++). At first the food was really good and the portion was perfect for amount you pay. But I've noticed that the portion has gone down. The bread is no longer soft, it's dry and you can hardly bite into it. The roast lam is not consistant. Sometimes it's moist and sometimes it's dry. As for the service, I don't expect any special treatment. Every single time we go, the manger always has a grumpy look and never smiles (to us). But I assume it's just how she is or that she has had a rough day. She would talk with other people, but NEVER us. Recently we went there to celebrate my husband's birthday. The waitress had seated us at the table. the manager laters come to us and without asking, tells us we have to move that we can't sit there. All she had to do was ask, but she was so rude about it. There are some really nice waitress there, but I can't say that for the rest. I'm not trying to just point out all the bad about this restaurant. In fact, it USE to be my family's favorite place to celebrate special occasion. I won't be going back again. Sometimes eventhough the food may be good, but if the service is less to be desired, it doesn't make up for it.
I can't believe this place doesn't have any reviews!
Having just joined this web site, I must do my duty.
If you are a mousaka lover, this is the place to go.
Very Flavourful. Not heavy or greasy. Perfect portion.
I have never had anything else here since the mousaka is too good to turn down. My husband has had the lamb and other friends have had various souvlaki - all have said their choices were good. The greek salad is average. Only Montreal Greek restaurants know how to make a great greek salad.
Atmosphere - very meditereanean... kitchy but suits the place.
If I say too much the waitress will know who I am. That is how often I go.. er.. we.... Their spanakopita, souvlaki, tzatziki, and greek salad are, quite literally, second to none.
I am not joking when I say that I've had all the Greek food in Surrey and yet this place is still the best. Perfectly seasoned, I never have to add salt or pepper. The souvalki is great because they remove the skewer for you, and it's always tender and juicy with that light charring for added numminess. The greek salad is very simple, but always has the freshest vegetables - it doesn't sit around all day so the flavor is fresh, crisp, and light.
I could go on for a very, very long time about the spanakopita, tiropita, etc... but it's really wasting your time. The restaurant has been there forever, so they must be doing SOMETHING right... and you are sitting here reading reviews when you COULD be eating!!!
Just go. Now. Eat.
Great food! I love greek food and the Greek Village is up there with other good greek restaurants. Tiropita (feta cheese pie) is fantastic! I was salvating for week after eating it. I have gone there probably around a dozen times since I work quite close by. The food is good and most of the serves are pretty nice, one in particular is great. The owner can seem a bit grumpy and unfriendly but she usually isn't serving. I normally get the Lamb Souvlaki and it is very very tasty. I have never been disapointed with a meal there. Prices are reasonable as well.
