The Cactus Club has over 20 locations in BC and Alberta and features an eclectic menu selection that includes steaks, rice bowls, dinner sized salads and more.
It has been quite a few years since I have eaten at a Cactus Club. The only reason I decided to go was cause my friend had just gotten her drivers licence and we went to celebrate 2 weeks ago.
The burger and fries that I ordered definatly were fresh and tasted that it had fresh ingridients in the burger (unlike those frozen patties you would get at a Denny's or IHOP)
The food was yummy, but it was a little expensive, but I guess with better quality foods, I should be prepared to pay a little more
I don't mind coming back again, it was good food and good times, just a little too pricy
Our previous visit to the Cactus Club was quite acceptable, this experience was even better. We were warmly greeted by the hostess, informed our table would be about ten minutes, and were promptly offered seats at the bar to enjoy a cocktail while we waited. The bellini was excellent. We were seated quickly. The service was great, very attentive and helpful. The food was delicious. My fiance ordered the 9oz Blackened Creole Striploin, the meat was cooked perfectly, the creole butter was excellent, and the seasonal vegetables were grilled and seasoned perfectly. I ordered the Spinach and Artichoke Quesadilla, which was great stuffed with peppers and feta and served with a spicy yogurt sauce, awesome. Overall a very pleasant evening, would definatly return. Really nice wine menu, lots of B.C. selections.
Just want to give everyone the heads up after an episode I had at the Delta location last night. I decided I wanted Take Out and I wanted a GOOD burger. Decided to pick up from the Cactus Club and get a Cajun Chicken Sandwich for myself and Chicken Strips for my girl. Total was 30 bucks ~ which in my opinion is quite a bit. So at the end of the ordering process she asks me if I would like a bag for 75 cents plus tax and I say No Thanks. What I dont realize at the time is that they will not give you a bag for your leftovers OR take out anymore. You have to pay for it! She states that its because they are now going with an environmentally friendly option. What she doesnt realize is that the old brown paper bags WERE environmentally friendly and FREE! So now, after paying through the nose for your food, you cant take any to go without purchasing a bag to walk out with. I go in to pick up my takeout and it is all stacked on top of each other for me to juggle out the door. If Cactus Club was giving a portion of this .75 back to the environment or even a worthy cause like JAPAN.... No problem. I am all for it HOWEVER.... I will not line the pockets of this company with one more dollar! CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP is all I can say. This company should be embarrased to say the least. Whats next? Paying per packet of ketchup or for napkins? The employee that I spoke to in Customer Relations stated "We are trying to promote people to bring their own bags!" WTF! Can you see it now..... Honey, Im just putting on my heals and Im ready to head out the door for a gorgeous dinner at the Cactus Club! Oh wait.... make sure you grab a bag so I have something to carry my leftovers out with. BIZARRE! The business world and society in general has been making me shake my head lately. Anyways, thanks for letting me rant. It was a real disapointment.
I like Cactus Club they do a good job with food, they usually serve nice drinks and of course I love the ladies working here. I always hink a good job is being a hiring manager there.
Yet, we found out that Cactus Club in Delta (presumably a suburb) is not the same as one downtown. Or perhaps Socialhouse and Earls are taking over the cool scene. Not sure.
So, the food was good, the steak well done, the martini mark up not atrocious and the service polite, but was it very sexy (still probably sexier than any other place around here), hip or edgy? No, that is not here and I tell you I think they charge the price of downtown.
I come here quite often, as it is close to where I live. I am always impressed with the menu, the service and the atmosphere. But I am always amazed at the bill at the end of the night. The food is absolutely killer, but I have to seriously reconsider coming here so often because of you have a few drinks the bill can go crazy in a heartbeat! Last time I was with a couple girlfriends and we had appies, and drinks....in the lounge...and my single bill was $85, and I wasn't even drunk! Now that's a $200 night if I go with my hubby! WAY too much!
I mean I get the consistency and stuff but why is this place popular? Me and a gf came her a few days ago after work out of desperation for grub. I havent been for years (literally, I can remember the last time I ate there), and was REALLY hoping I'd like my 20 dollar meal. Anyways, I don't eat red meat or pork anymore due to dietary problems, and nothing seemed interesting that didn't have it. I was starving so I settled on some duck sandwich without the pancetta, with fries because well I was hungry eff salad. I ordered a cool martini with pepper in it, it was good, but wouldn't want a second because it tasted way too weak to be 2 ounces (for 10 bucks at that) and it was just a pinch too lemony (and I eat lemons so that's saying something). Oh right, our server forgot our drinks at the bar for a good 5 minutes, my friend got a blended drink so I asked the bartender if I could grab it for our table (it was dead, it was definately ours). Server didn't mention it at all. She didn't seem too interested in conversation, and unlike alot of cactus clubs, kinda hurt my eyes (I'm not that shallow, but I do like to have a decent looking person serving me, guy or girl). She wasn't slutty dressed either which was surprising. Very strange. Anyways the food. Not bad, not stupendous, I've had alot better for alot less. Fries were gross, from a bag, could bake them better. Sandwich was decent, kinda fell apart. But like I said, wasn't impressed with the menu since I have dietary restrictions, and was way too hungry for a salad. Server didn't ask us if we wanted dessert, even though I was considering doing some to go.
CC, I want to like you I do. But for 30 bucks for a drink and a DECENT meal, and not even close to worth it service..... well you will always be hovering around desperate, like the other day. Will keep going to my random gems that aren't chains.
This Cactus Club has heaps of parking and is easily accessed from Scott Road. Generally their menu items are on the more expensive side, their alcohol pricing particularly so, although they have different items on special on different days of the week. Service we have had has been good, and the servers are characteristically attractive and try hard. Portions - especially steak portions - seem to be fairly small although I wouldn't describe myself as a big eater. Recommend the Szechuan beans highly.
The two of us dined out at the cactus club in the early evening mid-week. We were seated promptly, and the service was good.
The food was very tasty but the portions weren't enough to fill us up. We left hungry. We were disappointed that they didn't bring us any bread before or during the meal which would have helped. We also felt it was overpriced since it didn't appear to be a high class restaurant. The floors were bare concrete which looked cheap and unfinished. I thought a wood or tile floor would probably have suited the atmosphere better.
My wife and I enjoyed a very nice evening at this beautifull restaurant. The service was such that at times we were not quite sure of who our server was. The meal was excellent in both presentation and flavour. The only down side was that we feel that a restaurant of this calibur should serve port in a port glass rather than in a brandy sniffter.
It is not my purview to review the customers of the restaurants I visit, but I had never seen so many pleasing attractive ladies in one restaurant outside downtown Vancouver. What can I say, $200 haircuts, short skirts and such get me as a man every time. Speaking of that, the yummy blondies on the staff were designed to force me to order high priced drinks and tip extra and they know it. What a delightful restaurant.
The pasta was fantastic and obviously done right: not too much salt in the sauce like some other places. I think they add mint to it. Great idea. Wine, pasta and tip for 2 is $100 no more. I am thinking of visiting more.
