Urban Gate offers top quality Persian and Western food. The Persian mains include Jujeh Kebab ( grilled chicken with lemon, yogurt, and saffron marinade) and Beef Koobideh Kebab (grilled seasoned ground beef with garlic onions, saffron and tumeric). Other kebabs include Barg (marinatedd sirloin steak) and Shishlik (lamb chops). There are also other tradtional mains such as Lamb Shank and Fish and Baghali Polo.
As for Western fare, there are gourmet appetizers ranging from chicken wings to maui ribs to Irish nachos. There is a delicious steak sandwich, pan seared salmon, and an Urban Gate burger.
Connected to the restaurant is a grocery store where you can purchase all the ingredients to make your own Persian meal at home. They also have a bakery which is replenshied daily with housemade, amazing desserts and pastries. Make sure to take a box home with you after you leave.
I've purchased some pastries from the bakery and it was gross. The pastries went bad and I brought them back to the store. The owner instead of apology and refund or at least offer something else, he asked me to take my business somewhere else and do not get back to the store. He was supper rude he has bad temper and he was ready to get violent. I am not sure with this customer service how long more he can survive. I've tried to support this business but now I regret it. I've should of called the cups when he yield at me. Please don't waste your time and money in that store!!!!
Do not trust the owner. He is very dishonest and will try to take advantage of you. I regret ever having given this establishment my business.
The best thing offered are the cream puffs, if on the pricier side, but not enticing enough to overcome the complete lack of respect shown. Ambiance is typical sports bar/restaurant style.
You would be wise not to go.
