Mrs. C and I were in Coquitlam and we were hungry. We were driving around looking for food when we saw S&W. We scampered in to get our bellies filled. The place looked rather plain, but it was clean enough and we appreciated the tall partitions between the booths for added privacy when dining. Service was brisk and efficient, and our food arrived quickly.
Since we were starving we ordered a variety of dishes including pork dumplings with bok choi in soup, Szechuan spicy peanut sauce noodles, beef with pepper, spring rolls and some rice and fried cabbage. All were tasty and we were soon loosening our belts to accommodate our swollen bellies. A very satisfying meal for about 20 bucks. We will be back for more.
I was driving home from work last night and had a craving for Chinese food and I remembered a flyer that was in my mailbox a few days before that caught my eye because it seemed like a good price for a combo that comes with an eggroll. So I take out my phone and look up the address and go out of my usual drive to get there. I get there and order Combo A for 1 and it has to be the worst Chinese combo I've ever had! First off, that eggroll that comes with it, it was all mush in middle and the only taste was the plum sauce that I drenched all over it. I received 5 pieces of pork which were very small, except 1 piece that was average but half fat and a couple of them were hard in the middle. 5 PIECES!! The noodles, which was the meal, was dry and taste was scattered throughout with a few small pieces of chicken. The best part of the meal was the few pieces of crispy green and red pepper, onion, and the pinapple. As this being takeout, I didn't notice this till I got home to get ready to eat. If I was dining in, I would have definately sent it back. The dining area was clean from what I seen the little time that I was there but had broken tiles scattered throughout the room. I thought that the room was a bit too bright and the reason why would probably be because of all the white around the room, but I did notice the partitions between the tables against the wall which I thought would be ok for dining out. They have a little prelit Christmas tree with no decorations on it that is at a %75 angle (roughly) next to a post that's not even plugged in and this is the only Christmas decoration around the room from what I seen. The server was nice and had a smile but she just took my money and handed me my food which took about 10 minutes.
I believe that was disrespectful to give to a customer for $6.75 plus taxes and I will never go back to S&W Chinese Restaurant ever again. Not a good value for your dollar!
