The Arni Kokkinisto - braised lamb is yummy! So is the BBQ Chicken. Great portions and taste! A good place to come for some good greek food, but only once in awhile because it's quite pricey. The place is quite large and service is okay. Tons of parking too. A good alternative if you've tried all of the other surrounding restaurants in the area. =)

Came here yesterday with out of town guests. I ordered the Calamari appetizer and had a side of fries (both which were really good) The waitress we had was really great and friendly too. Made our dinning experience a great one. Food was really great and the decor of the restaurant was also fantastic.

I first went to Santorini's back in 98 or 99- and we're talking a-m-a-z-ing. The portions are generous, the food is mouth-watering, the spices are fresh, the flavor is incredible and we have to be rolled out the door every time. Salmon Dinner? Slow roasted Lamb Dinner? Kalamari? OMG, I'm salivating right now. You haven't had ketethes until you've had them at Santorini's- no meat tenderizer means the spices permeate the meat to perfection. On several occasions I've lucked out and had their home-made humous on the day they've made it, and my friends and I practically licked the bowl clean. The serving staff is always warm and welcoming, the atmosphere is lovely, and the dessert is just as much to die for. Highly, highly recommended to all!

Very mediocre food, extremely poor value, very poor in comparison with others

The favourable reviews about this restaurant are for sure ringers by someone from the restaurant family or ownership because this place has really bad to mediocre food and is really bad value. I strongly encourage you to pass on this place.

I went there few nights ago and was shocked by the price and the poor food quality. Honestly, I only went by mistake because Mr Greek Taverna on Brunette was full to the brim and the wait for a table was 2 hours.

Portions here were tiny and so expensive compared to good Greek restaurants like Mr Greek Taverna on Brunette or even fast-dish ones like Stepho's Downtown.

The daily special was a beef souvlaki for $15.95 (rather pricey for the daily special and horrible value for what it ended up being) and ended up being a tiny SINGLE skewer of beef no more than 4-5 ounces altogether. The beef was heavily marinated but you could still taste the staleness (the "blue" beef taste of meat that is almost spoiled). The rice was old and obviously boiled, then quickly roasted rather than being roasted completely as it should be. It was dry and had no flavour at all, I wouldn't be surprised if it had been microwaved. The potato was also boiled and wasn't roasted at all, was still full of water when I cut it. I wish I took photos of this dish to show you how pathetic it looked.

The salad was old and stale and appeared to be straight out of the fridge with a quick dash of oil and cheese as it was in a separate bowl. The tzatsiki was in a plastic cup.

I should mention that that was the cheapest meal on the menu. The lamb was over $20, which is ridiculous because Mr Greek has fantastic lamb for $11.95 and Stepho's serves awesome lamb for $8.95!!!! I can't even imagine what crap they would have given me had I ordered that.

We had a calamari appetizer which was super greasy and clearly made from frozen from those bulk-purchased pre-made breaded kalamari. You might as well buy a bag from Safeway and throw it into a deep-fryer because at least your oil will be fresher as this had a stink of reused oil that's changed once a month.

My friend ate everything on his meal and was still not full. I have never previously walked out of a Greek restaurant and not been so full that I can hardly stand up. This is my first disappointing Greek restaurant experience.

The server was clean and polite. The restaurant decor was outdated and old-fashioned but clean and neat.

As was to be expected from such horribly mediocre and poor food, the restaurant was almost completely empty.

Very disappointing and I am shocked that a family-owned restaurant would not be better, I guess the family just doesn't care.

Great Service, Good Food

I've been to many Greek restaurants before and have learned to expect the following: lots of blue and white paint; lots of plants; loud music. I expect large-ish portions, and to be charged for extra tzatziki or hummous, or extra pita. It's just what I've learned. Service-wise, ranges from super attentive to mostly indifferent.

We went to Santorini on Sept 20 for my brother's birthday. There were 7 of us in the party. It was fairly early, about 6:30 - the restaurant was pretty empty for a Sunday night. Not sure if that's because it's just a slow night or slow season in general. Our waitress was very attentive - turning down the music in our section, closing the blinds while the sun was glaring in our faces... she even set aside the beer specials for our table because they were running out of the special, and knew that we really liked it. She took hints and filled water without interrupting the conversations we were having... was inscenced on our behalf with the kitchen staff when two of our meals didn't come with tzatziki sauce... separated our bills for us without making a fuss (and let us know that she might not have done it properly)... and at the end, when we paid, informed us that we tipped too much! (For us, she HAD messed up the bill a little bit - charged one couple in our party for some of the drinks I had - so to even it out we had them under-tip while we over-tipped, so she got an even tip overall.)

The food was decent. We had a few different souvlakis - beef and chicken and lamb, spanakopita entree and moussaka entree. The souvlakis & spanakopita entrees tasted great, served with large portions of rice, side of potato and greek salad. The moussaka was somewhat lacking, but might have been a matter of opinion at the time.

Almost everyone went home with leftovers. In my mind if you are paying $16 for an entree and you get two meals out of the deal, that's pretty good value overall.

While I was pregnant, I was craving Greek food a lot and this place just so happened to be within walking distance of our house.

I was pleasantly surprised at the interior decor of the place, but that's where it ended. We were briskly asked how many in our party by a unsmiling seating hostess who was smiling before she noticed us. The table we were originally going to be seated at was not accommodating of my ample womb, so we had to ask for a different table. It wasn't too busy, so that was possible.

We placed our order of salad, souvlaki, spankakopita, and moussaka and waited. And waited. And waited. I got annoyed that some people who had been seated after us got their orders before us, even though we had ordered the same items.

When we had finally gotten our order, I was even more upset when I saw the rice (converted Uncle Ben's kind of rice). The spanakoita was soggy, my lamb was tough, the moussaka had a strange after-taste and my mouth went funny (I'm sensitive to some food preservatives) so it wasn't made from scratch, and my Greek salad had no calamata olives.

We wanted to just eat and leave. I actually wanted to send the food back, but I was so hungry by the time it came, I just ate it. It took almost as long to get the bill and to get out, but I don't think I'll be back.

Pretty Decent Greek Fare

I have been to Santorini's many times over the years and have known the original owners as well as the most recent owners. The original concept of Santorini's was to be a higher end Greek Style Restaurant with great food and impeccable service. The original owner's did a fabulous job with that concept, the food was always consistent, service was excellent and the restaurant was spotless. However they sold to another Greek Family who changed a lot of the original concept. Food was still consistent, service became more casual but in the process I think they lost of their original following which they never regained. My most recent visit on a Saturday night saw me and my wife as one of only 3 tables in the restaurant. I think they had definitely lost most of their clientele.....probably due to some fairly steep price increases over the last couple of years. $31.95 for a litre of house wine?? Come on....Oh well it was kinda sad to see the restaurant close it's doors but they certainly didn't do much to help themselves.

The food is alright, the rice is good, the spankopita is yummy, the greek salad is good and the potatoes are wonderful.

I don't like how the tables are so close to one another not much privacy and you feel like you can't talk loud.

The server was a nice Montreal Greek who spoke Greek as well. The music was nice and the ouzo candies got me high for a while.

We did the Greek 'platter for two' at the Santorini one evening awhile back, and it was great!! This was our first visit to this fine restaurant, and we much-enjoyed our dining experience there.
We had a wonderful feast of Greek delights on our platter, along with a fine Greek salad -- with the big proportions, some of this good stuff just had to come home with us!!
For us, it was good food, well-prepared and presented, good proportions, and in our opinion, priced very fairly.
A great spot!!

Santorini Taverna is back!!!!

The last time me and my family visited Santorini was close to a decade ago, it was our weekend spot for great food, ambience, and entertainment (belly dancers). As the years went by the place started to diminish so sadly to say we stopped going. Flash forward to present day, after hearing rave reviews from the italian community and the fact that it's been under new management for some time, my wife wanted to go see first hand what all this craze was about. Ill keep this part of my paragraph short and ohh so very sweet!! i ordered the should of lamb, my wife ordered the lamb chops, (my kids had teenage food, bbq chicken and chicken fingers) both mine and my wifes lamb was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning spices and herbs. Truely mouth watering. The portions were just enough that you can barely get that last bite in your mouth to finish off your plate. Our waiter was very out going and polite and even made us laugh throughout the night, his recommondations about the desserts were bang on and you can tell these are all home made. I left there that night with a feeling of excitement that we had just re-discovered our weekend spot for going out with the family!!
Thank you!

This is without a doubt of the hundreds of Greek restaurants i have been to around the world the WORST. Any one writing a postive review is lying or a moron. We have lived within a few miles of the restaurant for 16 years and despite spending thousands of dollars at Kefi, Alekos and My greek we hadn't been their for 15 years. Now i remember why we havent been for 15 years after recently visiting. MacDonalds food is better truly astounding how bad the food is - the lamb was dry and had fat = how is that even possible. disgusting not even worth the price of gas to leave your driveway

Seeing the great reviews we went to this place with great expectations. We found that the food was just okay and a bit pricey. The Spanokopita was good, the halibut steak a little bland, the pita bread was delicious. Decor is too crowded, Service was okay but the waiter disappeared after giving us the food (which came pretty quick i must say).

just okay - nothing great. i was hoping food would have more jing in it but no.

Not too many Greek Tavernas disappoint me, but the food flavour here was fairly bland. Lamb chops and Keftethes were good but that's about it. Caesar salad had no zip, rice pilaf had no flavour and absolutely no diced veggies except for 2 pieces of carrots and 1 piece of celery. Rice pilaf shouldn't be all rice! Even the Tzatziki had very little yoghurt or dill added, mainly tasted like sour cream.

Well I will start out by stating that I'm not huge on Greek food and have limited experience when it comes to Greek food. The service was outstanding which included recommendations which the waitress was bang on about.

The food was excellent and portion sizes were medium to large. The desserts are also excellent with almost everything made from scratch as expected.

Ambiance was also very good. Will definitely go back....
