We need one in Vancouver

better than KFC or Church's. Better gravy and they have biscuits (delish)and mash potatoes where the earlier two only has crappy salads and green coleslaw. Needless to say I would drive an hour to Popeye's in Coquitlam for good fried chicken. We do need one in Vancouver so hopefully it happens soon.

Popeyes, Aye Aye

Although I am a devoted Churches-goer, I do think that Popeyes is very good. They have stuff the other guys just don't have, like red beans and rice, catfish (!), and of course the biscuits. I actually ate at one in the HongKong airport. I had the deep fried shrimp and a chicken sandwich on a biscuit. Yum!

i've tried popeye's a few times, when it had come to coquitlam. there was much hoopla and i had read about how good it was. the chicken was spicy and crispy, but the pieces were small. also, as the years have gone by, the prices have soared. i haven't gone back in a while, but the last time i went there, i had a 3 piece meal for about $9??? it was a small drumstick, a small wing and a small thigh with a drink and a biscuit. for $9??? come on...go to lee's famous recipie in poco for much better chicken at better prices.

I used to love eating Popeye's while I was teaching english in Korea. It is HUGE over there. Funny though how nobody really cares for it south of the border. I've travelled the i5 down to LA more than a few times and have yet to see a Popeye's along the way.

When Popeye's opened up here in the Lower Mainland 2 or 3 years ago, I was elated. But unfortunately it didn't live up to the standards I was used to in Korea. That was more than 2 years ago. Judging from the reviews of others though, things may have improved. I am familiar with master franchise holder for BC who is a Korean like myself. I'm sure if business thrives, there will be more locations opening. As far as I know, there are two more in the Fraser Valley.

Chicken done right!

Popeye's is definitely the best fried chicken on earth. No wonder it's Beyonce's fav! Unlike other places where your hands are dripping with fat/grease from the first bite, Popeye's chicken is actually not greasy!! It also has this crunch that you can't find anywhere else! I always stop here when I'm in Coquitlam. Their biscuits are to die for...so light and fluffy. They've also got side items like rice and beans, jambalaya, cajun fries, mashed potatoes, seasoned gravy. This is comfort food like none other.
The prices are more than average, a family meal will set you off about $35. But it is well worth it! I recommend the Po' Boy sandwiches! Meals for one costs under $10.

i'm a sucker for mashed potatoes...and especially gravy. popeye's has this amazing meaty gravy that i can never get enough of. you can actually find little bits of meat in it and it goes so well with the potatoes. it's really heavy, so beware!

POPEYE HAS GONE!

Just as well as their chicken was pretty greasy and spicy. Too bad the quality couldn't have improved as it would have been a nice alternative to KFC or Churchs Chicken (which is still the best by far). Great location so hopefully another restaurant will take over.

Nice Fried Chicken Alternative

Popeye's is popular in Toronto but rare in Greater Vancouver. The chicken is both crunchy and tasty. Firmer than KFC but softer than Church's. The biscuits are a must have to try. The jambalya and wild rice are very good.

This restaurant is rather spacious and located in the mall with the Chapters and Saveon Foods.
