I have been going to this pizza place for years now since it is so close to where I live. I have to say, Plateau pizza is one of the best Pizza places in the lower mainland. Their pizza is always up to quality and their prices are low and reasonable. Their service is always top notch and their delivery is always on time. Their "Big Meat" pizza is absolutely to die for and their new thin crust pizza is a welcome addition. If you want something independent and local this is the place to go!
I don’t normally review too many places, but when I come across one that has a combination of excellent staff and food quality I must share it with others.
1.) Over all Crust:
Very nice crispy bottomed pizza crust and then when you bite into it you get an excellent chewy fresh baked flavour. Crust is not too thick or thin and not greasy what I like. I know some people like that thin cracker crust from me and Eds or a pan style crust full of oil from pizza hut, for the rest of us this is the one. Reminds me of the pizza I had when traveling across Italy.
1.) Ham and Pineapple:
I like to try a classic when going somewhere for the first time. This Pizza was excellent, one of the better Hawaiian pizzas around with lots of gooey delicious cheese, fresh sweet pineapple, tangy red sauce and good size pieces of ham sliced thin. Nothing worse than big thick hunks of ham, the pizza was finished off with a sprinkle of oregano which elevated this pizza above other pizza parlours.
2.) Deluxe Supreme:
Many delicious fresh toppings on a tangy tomatoes base. The sausage was juicy and the peppers and onions fresh. I loved the fact that they used fresh olives that have been pitted by themselves that beats the canned olives any day. Full of flavour. The Addition of asigo cheese on this one really is what finishes it off to take beyond.
3.) Spicy Italian:
Now the spicy Italian, this in my opinion was the best of the three I had. This pizza was full of layers of flavour with the capicollo chorizo and artichoke being the big flavours on this pizza. The artichokes were tender and not stringy or woody which can be a problem when not done correctly. The Goat cheese was so perfect; a smooth addition to this combination with the fresh tomato and garlic made this truly a delight on their amazing crust.
5.) Restaurant and Store Front:
A very nice pizza parlour in the high end west wood plateau area. Kept very clean, I thought the place must have been brand new, but they have been around for a while. For a good reason, great pizza, great staff, and kept up very well. Have a few nice tables outside of the shop to enjoy a fresh pizza and pop when the sun is shining.
