I wouldn't really recommend it.

Came here once with my friend for dinner. The inside was a little dark and dingy and it was quite empty, so we were a little hesitant, but we decided to give it a try anyway. We both ordered the chicken noodle soup. The chicken was tough and chewy, tasted like what I would find at the bottom of my stock pot. The soup was alright...but I have definitely had better Vietnamese noodle soup at other places. Not much service to speak of, because the people there just kind of disappeared after they brought us our food. Probably wouldn't come back given that there are so many other choices out there.

We had lunch and dinner on many occasions at both locations and were allways pleasently surprized about the friendly service, the great food and the decent portions. We have moved to HongKong in the mean time but are very much looking forward to our next visit to Pho Hoa on our next trip back to Vancouver.

Vietnamese restaurants are all over the place. I found Pho Hoa is one of the best Vietnamese restaurant in Coquitlam. They have good soup base and vermicelli. My favorite is number 1.I had rare beef noodle in soup. However, I found the spring roll was so good in here.Service is good and friendly. They do everything a little better than the usual plethora of Vietnamese noodle restaurants across the city. A nice find.i will come again for sure.

Number 8 rocks

I always get the Number 8 beef Pho (Steak, Flank and Fatty Flank). Its a good place to go if you're looking for light meal that is tasty and affordable. I usually get the Summer Roll too (two prawns in it). The soup will usually be in front of me within 5 minutes, and you get sprouts, basil sprigs, jalapenos, and lime wedges to put in the soup. Everything is fresh. The decor is cheap but you have lots of room. If you just drink the tea, you can eat for under $10/person. They do have nice-looking fruit drinks that I should try sometime.

Decent Pho
By lesmark of burnaby (72 Reviews)

This Pho restaurant is fairly consistent with the Pho Hoa's throughout the lower mainland. In my opinion, Pho 99 on North Road and Lougheed Hwy provides much better value.

The prices at the Pho Hoa restaurants have increased and the marginal value to the consumer has continued to decrease. As mentioned in other Pho Hoa post(s) the big chain mentality has had a substantial effect on the franchise name.

Perhaps one day it'll be called McPho's? That's right! You heard it hear first!!! By lesmark 'McPho's'! Gotta luv it!!!

One of the best noodle houses in town.

This little Pho Hoa on Austin is a hidden gem. I didn't even know that one existed in Coquitlam, one of my colleagues recommended it to me. Out of all the Pho places I've been to, this is definitely one of the best.

I ordered the usual #17, the soup was rich and flavourful. The amount of meat/content you get in the Pho is amazing. My bowl was brimming to the top and it was actually full, instead of the odd pieces of meat and meatballs you normally get at other places. You definitely get your money's worth here.

The service is prompt and friendly, what you would expect from a fast and easy restaurant chain like Pho Hoa. The ambience is nothing to write home about though and the place is pretty bland.

However, If you're craving Pho and you want the best bang for your buck, this is the place to go.

Good food friendly people.

This is a good place to eat. The hot and sour seafood pho comes out in about 3 minutes seasoned perfectly and always with a smile.
Great comfort food for a quick, or lingering lunch or dinner.
All the reviews of rude waiters at pho restaurants in general does not apply here. Or perhaps people should smile at the waiter and be polite when they speak to them. They may well be surprised at the response.

8 Years Straight

We have been going to this place for 8 years!!! Probably more than that. This place is like our kitchen. Good decent food. Always feel fresh and tons of meat and noodle. I always order 15 large, and my wife always order 44 large. Now my two kids order the same thing. Never change. Super friendly servers that always talk to us and sometimes on holiday, gave our kids bonus dishes that they serve to staff. We love the place.

Very good vietnamese food

This little dive packs alot of flavour in their dishes. Their food is very good, fresh ingredients with great flavours. The place looks like a total dive, but i have seen worse. The service is super fast, but the servers could use some lessons in manners and etiquette. When you walk in, the vietnamese lady barks at you, How many! You sit here, ready to order! It's actually kinda funny to see how blunt they are. No hellos, smiles, goodbyes or nothing. Just fast service and great food at an affordable price. They are open late aswell. Great soup for hangovers.

Poor service loses another customer
By DennisK of Coquitlam (1 Review)
Submitted Thursday, December 3, 2009 - 1:45pm [Dine in]

I've been a fan of vietnamese noodles for 10 years. Naturally, I would visit a Pho restaurant often to enjoy the warm noodle soup. But this Pho Hoa at Austin ave has one of the poorest service I've seen in my life. They never smile. They always speed through the ordering process, often grunting when I take my time to order what I pay for. Never exressing any gratitude when I tip them for whatever minimal service they have done. Once I had to express my anger at the younger waiter with glasses. I don't know if he was having a bad day but he was very rude at my family.

Anyways I won't be going to this branch again.

I guess the food and service is good. But I could only give them a 3 for both categories because of the bad experiences from the restaurant.

one more lost customer
By Julie of coquitlam (1 Review)

I order #46(really good) my favorite, for pick up. I have never eaten in. When I get home there is broth and a bowl of noodles, no seafood. I call and they apologize and tell me they'll give me a double order next time.
I call for my replacement and free order. the lady remembers me..but now she will only replace the soup...no Extra anything! I didn't even go back for my paid for soup. They lost my business for good.
it's a chain Pho house so the value is good but customer service is horrible.
