A tea house serving bubble tea, milk tea, smoothies, etc. Located near the Safeway store.
I was in Coquitlam and I was thirsty when some friends suggested I try this place for bubble tea. Apparently Coquitlam has few places to get this particular beverage (so I am told) and PFTH is reputed to be the best.
I decided to play delivery boy, so I drove over and picked up bevvies for my pals: Strawberry milk tea, pina colada smoothie, chocolate bubble tea, and coconut bubble tea with jelly. The place was packed with the teen crowd, and I waded my way through the adolescent throngs and ordered. The tea house itself is nicely appointed and clean, and the server was friendly and repeated my order back to me to ensure proper communication of beverage choices.
After a few minutes, I was out the door with the beverages. I took them to my grateful chums. We all agreed that the milk/bubble teas were only average at best, but the smoothie was quite tasty. In particular the milk teas had a gritty texture, due I suppose to the powder used.
Would I be back? There aren't many other choices in the area, but I would not go out of my way to return.
Decided to try bbt for the first time in Coquitlam. I had high hopes for this place even tho my dining experiences in Coq was never that great.
Their website made them look so fancy and yummy.
Their drinks did not "deliver the sensual and superior taste experience" as they claim. Their drinks were just average. The milk tea barely tasted like it's made out of tea.
The place is small and not comfortable; I was hoping for a lounge-like atmosphere. I guess this place is more for take-outs. I hate it when they call it a bbt house when it can not "house" that many ppl.
Don't think I'll go again. I'd rather drive to Burnaby or Vancouver.
By far the champion of Bubble Tea in the GVRD. The quality, price, service and atmosphere is all above par. You can find BBT places that beats Pearl Fever in one of these categories, but never overall.
Quality is consistent, they always are looking for ways to improve and love feedback. It is not the best there is in terms of quality, but for the price it is worth it.
Service is the best in Vancouver. I only found one place that has better service. Friendly and quick. It is hard to find a quicker and more efficient team. It reminds me of a downtown club bar team. That fast.
Value is great. Prices have gone up all over the place and these guys still are one of the lower priced places.
Ambiance is great, especially after the renovations. A cool place to chill if it isn't too busy. The Pearl Fever Product has a coolness to it. "Evolved Tea Experience". The motto I feel suits them.
The UBC Pearl Fever is better, but this place is not far behind.
Every time I'm in the area, I choose Pearl Fever for bubble tea! It is a really popular drink shop, especially in the evenings and weekends. I have watched their store evolve and form an identity for themselves over the years.
I really love the bubble tea there. Perfect pearls every time. They have all of the classic flavours, and some unique ones, too. Drinks made with fresh fruit are clearly indicated on the menus.
Now, they also serve amazing cheesecake!
The service has always been quick and friendly. They have never screwed up my order before, which is great!
In the Coquitlam area, Pearl Fever is my favourite place for bubble tea. The service is always friendly and I've always been a satisfied customer with my bubble tea there.
They've spruced up the place a bit over the last year or so, giving the place a much cleaner and classier atmosphere. The only problem is that it can get really busy at night and on weekends so if you're looking for a place to sit down and hang out with friends, this might not be a good place for that. I really think this location would benefit by doing renovations and expanding their seating area.
Bubble tea is good, nothing to complain about. The service is always quick. You get a buy 10 get 1 free stamp card.
The last time I went into Pearl Fever, I saw they had a new dessert section... tiramisu, etc. I guess that's a good idea but when I go to a bubble tea place I go there for the bubble tea.
Like Bubble World (on the other side of Coquitlam), it's packed on Friday / Saturday nights.
I like the atmosphere there. The thing that really stands out is the mini-chalkboard on the wall. Sometimes there are interesting drawings.
