Pallas Athena Greek Kouzina serves up authentic Greek cuisine.
A group of us ate here on a saturday night. The place inside is beautiful, clean and the service is great.
For an appetizer I ordered the Saganaki (cheese dish) - excellent.
For my entree I ordered the Arni Psito (lamb shoulder) - Probably the best I've ever had at a greek restaurant.
The prices are very good here as well.
I will for sure be returning with my wife to eat that lamb again, it was that memorable.
It's a pleasant restaurant, decorated well. The appies were tasty and priced ok. Drinks were priced lower than I thought would be the case. As for the mains, the accompaning salad, rice, satziki and potatos were very good. But the beef and lamb were too dry. And this should be the highlight. The waitress was overworked playing bartender and waitress. She did this well but seldom visited us to ask the usual questions. Obviously this is a management issue and not her fault but is critical to the business. It's annoying when you can't get someone's attention. All in all it was ok for value and we may return. Well see.
This is one of my favourite restaurants in Port Coquitlam, and when I found out they moved to Coquitlam I thought, great! we ordered take out one night, food was outstanding. You can't really judge the service for take out other than they said it would take 20 minutes and it took 20 minutes to get it, so that was great.
Food was so great, souvlaki, spanakopita, roast lamb - it was all great! You should try it... the previous greek restaurant at this location was crap... this is a HUGE improvement!
Only thing I can say is that the food was really salty and dry.
can't waste any more time on this place !!
The previous greek (spiros) restaurant/owner was way better!!
nuff said .. dined there when they first opened and gave them a second
chance last week.. not a busy place at all.. see all the hints Pallas ???
Maybe it was an off night but was disappointed with the service and our meals. The chicken souvakli was dry and potatoes over done. We had to ask for tzatziki for our meals. Our salads came on separate plates before our meals along with cold pita bread and tzatziki. Our water glasses were always full and the decor was nice, but still won't be back any time soon.
I have been to this restaurant location before and had noticed that the name had changed from my previous visit (was previously Spiros). When I walked in, to my suprise everything had been tastefully renovated and I was impressed with the new look. The restaurant was about 80% full. We were seated promptly and recieved excellent service. The menu was also brand new. My wife and I ordered the calamari for an appetizer. It was fresh and delicious. I still think about the calamari to this day.....it's a must have! We had also ordered chicken slouvaki with the rice and potatoe. That was also delicious. Saved room for desert and was very happy with that. For some reason I can't remember the name of the desert. I will defintely return to this place for when I want a Greek fix. I have recommended this restaurant to family and friends....those who have tried it have been impressed as well.
In conversation with our server we found out that the restaurant is under new owners. Compliments to them as they have done an outstanding job with this restaurant overhaul!
As we sit in the restaurant with the statue of Athena - the goddess of wisdom - looking over us we know we made a "wise" choice. The romantic vibe is set with linen table clothes decorated with roses and candles. My first decision is made around the dessert as they are magnificent slices of heaven. Once that is settled we have our starter, usually the lightly battered, non greasy, calamari or their heavenly prawn and scallops in a creamy pernod sauce. Knowing I have to leave room for dessert I go with the mixed souvlaki (half beef and half chicken) a skewer of each to get the best of both worlds. Their Greek rice and potatoes are the BEST! I like that the greek salad and pita come before the entree. Their wine and cocktail list is fun! We always ask for our same waitress as she remembers us and the stories we tell her. She asks about our family and how our jobs are and it makes us feel memorable. We tried the restaurant when it first opened and it was a well oiled machine from day one. It is clean in the restaurant which is important to us and they play good Greek music not the cheesy kind. The location is great and easy to find for people that we get to meet us here. They never have a problem accommodating our reservations when we have dinner parties of 8 - 10 people or if we drop in just me and my husband. It is our Greek getaway.
I knew immediately when I walked in the door that this would be an agreeable dining experience. The restaurant which has recently been renovated was tastefully done and impeccable. Not your standard Greek Restaurant. The staff were friendly and efficient and most importantly the meal we ordered was mouth watering. It was worth the long drive from White Rock and I would do it again. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a great Greek meal in comfortable, friendly surroundings. Congratulations to the Management for there successful result.
