Manrisung is a great Korean restaurant to try hotpot dishes, noodles and the Peking duck. Every dish is delicious and a good value. Service is awesome too - friendly servers and the first time we went there the owner/chef personally greeted us. Don't be surprised to find some Chinese inspired dishes there and if the chef starts speaking to you in Mandarin and Korean, it's not your ears playing tricks on you - he's from an area in Korea very close to the Chinese border so a lot of his korean dishes have a lot of chinese flair to them. Wonderful place with wonderful food that warms you right up.
food was just okay, i think it's over-priced.
service was AWFUL!!! we (2 ppl) stood at the reception to be lead to a table, 10 minutes passed by, 3+ servers walked passed by many many times (delivering dishes, packing up, cleaning tables) and none of them talked to us nor directed us to a table. (there were 3 tables available at that time). it was unbelievable! however, when they were collecting payment (cash), they were very very very fast, it took them less than 1 min to take the money away! AWFUL!!!
I have to say Manrisung has the best Peking Duck in town. The Chef/owner of the restaurant mastered the roasting duck from the original Peking Duck restaurant in Beijing (Quan Ju De). The chef will cut the roast duck in thin slices in front of you. The portion of roast duck combo is for 4 people and it comes with one whole roast duck+roast duck stew (or roast duck congee)+ Dumpling( or stir fried korean noodle with veggies or sausage shape stuffed with seasoned rice). The duck was very crispy, juicy and tender and you wrap it in the thin sliced bean curd with spicy/plum sauce (like fajita). The duck stew followed by the roast duck was equally delicious and tasty. All the main entree is served with abundant korean side dishes (kimchi, seasoned cucumber, sweetend potato and bean sprout).
The service was good and fast enough. However you have to order at least half an hour in advance if you like to try the tasty duck combo. Also the price was very reasonable. Three of us ordered one roast duck combo which is about 50 bucks and ended up taking home most of the duck stew.
I will definetely go back to Manrisung if I am craving for roast duck. Overall, it was definetely enjoyable dinining experience with decent price.
By the way, it is actually a Koren-Chinese restaurant. They have variety of selection for korean cuisine and Chinese style chowmein. We had a genseng Chicken stew second time and it was also top notch.
