having been to Wibur & Sebastiens down the street (their competitor, from what i've heard), i was interested in trying this place out. What a dissapointment!!

there are some places that look like dives but prove to be hiddens gems cuz the food & value are phenominal. Unfortunately, this is not one of those places. It looks like they tried to makeover the place and stopped halfway. And food, well, resembles a diner.

first off, they advertise specialty coffee drinks (mochas, latte's, etc). When I asked what brand of coffee they serve, the host could only point to the board (showing the TYPES of coffees). They gave me the wrong drink order, which was fixed upon request. Drinks were nothing special.

My friend had an omelette and I had the stuffed french toast. They must have not cleaned the grill properly because the omelette was speckled with bits from the previous order, and greasy. There was alot of stuff in it to the point that it seemed like too much stuffing. My french toast was mediocre at its best. There was just no love in the food, or the service, as the waitress did not ask how our food was or ask if we were finished. They just took it away without asking! As it was brunch, we were reading the paper but there was still contents in our food & drinks. When I went to sip my drink, it was nowhere to be seen.

Strike on service AND food, definitely not worth our money. If they want to keep business, they definitely need to vamp it up cuz there's better places around.

For many years this restaurant was called Craig's and was a nice place to have Breakfast or Lunch. It has had new owners for a few months and it doesn't look like it has been cleaned since then. The guy next to me left before his food arrived as he had been waithing for 25 minutes. Another couple came in looked around had coffee and left before ordering. They had a sign on the door closed at 12.30 for staff meeting???? I only saw a staffof two but we were rushed out of there at 12.40 and many people tried to get in for lunch but the door was locked. Whi in their right mind has a meeting during the lunch period.

My friend and I went in for lunch at Into the Fire (previously Craig's Cafe) the other day. She had the turkey club sandwich with New England Clam Chowder, I had a chicken/feta/mushroom/pepper sandwich with a salad. I didn't try her sandwich, but she was very pleased and the chowder looked great and was freshly made. As for mine... for the price I wasn't expecting much, really. But after one bite it was clear this wasn't food to eat, but to savour. With all those ingredients in a sandwich, I thought it would have been like a "salad" sandwich, but instead the different elements were carefully arranged, not mushed together. So there were little, delightful encounters with flavours throughout the sandwich. All this for the same price as a meal across the street at McDonald's... I'll definitely be back. The two of us were in and out for $20 - and that's after leaving a generous tip for Edna, our waitress.

The ambiance is okay and the location a little unexpected, but we were able to have a very nice, long, confortable chat - much of it about the unexpected food.

My husband and I visited this cafe for breakfast upon curiosity after reading/hearing about Craig's Cafe (former name/owner). It was nothing special. Had the eggs, toast, bacon, potatoes for $4.99, and I guess not bad for the price...but only got a small handful of potatoes. The service was nothing special, we had to ask for coffee refills and jam for the toast. Don't feel the urge to return.
