Denny's serves a menu of diner classics including all day breakfast items, burgers, sandwiches and more.
It is becoming a habit for my husband & me to visit this restaurant's location near Lougheed Town Centre!
We live in New Westminster and can either head to Burnaby or Coquitlam when we want to eat at a "Denny's", but we prefer the Coquitlam location.
We consider Service "Outstanding" because server attention is not only prompt, but super friendly. The dining area is bright and clean. My favourite dish is the blueberry pancakes because it is the only restaurant I have found that makes its pancakes minimally sweet and uses beautiful plump blueberries in the batter that actually pop like blueberries when you bite on them (as opposed to wondering if you are eating pie filling or whether blueberries were even added to the batter). The pancakes come with eggs (made to your liking), potatoes (shredded or wedges), and your choice of bacon or sausage. It is a lot of food for less than $10!!! The price always surprises me because the food volume easily costs $12 or more in other similar Canadian style breakfast restaurants.
The best place open at 2AM around my house. The food here is always consistent. They are always warm and welcoming to guests and get you seated as fast as possible. Definitely worth a try if you are hungry at night or are trying to get your papers / studies done for the day after. Overall, positive experience. I would see you soon Denny's!
Denny's is awesome! Really, who goes to Denny's actually expecting elite service? Was your lumberjack slam good? Wonderful - You should leave happy! You know what you are getting, and when I have my Denny's craving going on I am never disappointed. Of course it is going to be loud, poor service and will probably cost you around $15 per person.... but everyone knows this! We all come to Denny's to enjoy all of those classic dishes that we have grown to depend on if we should ever desire them at... oh say 3:30 am? Sound good!?!?
I have always found the service here to be good. The servers are prompt, polite, friendly and recognize regulars such as my friend and I. The food has recently gotten a lot better, perhaps from new management? They also have WiFi here which is a huge plus! My only complaint is that they air condition the building way too mujch and it's freezing in there!
Yes it was cheap and it was good. but the server seemed like she didnt want to do her job. Not friendly and always gone and she charged me twice for my dinner and didnt even notice untill i mentioned it even then she had to "check in the back" when it was clearly wrong.... I would go to dennys again but perhaps a different one
Ok, so it's Denny's.. well believe it or not, if the people working there *really* don't care enough it can be an awful experience. This one seems to be run well and the server I've had most times is a nice lady who does her job well. The food is cooked as it should be and arrives quickly. After a tip I'm usually paying close to $20 which isn't the best value really at all.. but I guess it's more a convenience than anything to have a decent meal done properly at strange hours with a smile. I'll return for sure.
Denny's does a good job of promoting their free Birthday Grand Slam offer. Unlike some other restaurants that have restrictive criteria for their "free" meals, Denny's actually comes through. For that, I commend them.
I came here the other day for my wife's birthday and she was treated with a free Birthday Grand Slam (2 each of pancakes, sausages, bacon, eggs, and some hashbrowns). I ordered the same for myself. Service was quick and efficient though it seemed that the servers were running around pretty hard because the place was packed (Saturday morning). The server missed our drink order and had some issues with the billing but other than that he was pleasant though a bit rushed.
The food came quickly and was exactly what we ordered. The pancakes were good and came with a generous amount of butter. The eggs were pretty small - I would guess medium or small eggs. Sausages were small and had a bit of a rancid taste to them - like when oil starts to go bad. Bacon was standard fare and hash browns were fried shoestring potatoes.
Compared to other branded breakfast options, I'd rank Denny's among the lowest. The restaurant has really not changed for as long as I have known it (about 30 years) and the food is lacklustre. For the price you pay, there are many better choices, among them, independents such as Joe's Grill. Where Denny's wins out is the convenience of their operating hours.
I went there for late dinner and the service was very poor; I could never find my server and even if I do, it takes a long time for her to refill my drinks etc. Also, there's this old lady who works there who seem to be very grumpy/ unfriendly when I tried to ask her something.
Dinner was border line. The burger was not very good even when it was heavily promoted. Service was good. She was always available.
Breakfast was fast and taste. Service was great. I usually order the lumberjack to feed the kids (age 4 and 1) and I. What a great deal.
Lots of parking space.
Don't forget it is a free meal if it is your birthday. That price is great.
