A Church's Chicken franchise in Coquitlam, near Pinetree Village Mall.
I was filled with delight after a previous meal at Church's, and I decided to get some more. This time I tried the Coquitlam location. It didn't look very inviting: The place was surrounded by obnoxious teens arguing with each other, and one middle-aged drunk guy who apparently wanted to engage customers in conversation lurked inside.
The place was really dirty, but I ordered anyway. The server seemed a little preoccupied, but he was quick, which was good. After I scampered home with my food, I was in for a letdown. The chicken was overdone. Definitely not as good as at other locations, and my jalapeño cheese bombers were somewhat nasty, too. I won't even describe the Cajun rice. Church's sides are not great at the best of times, but this was a new low.
This location brings shame to an otherwise decent restaurant chain. I won't be back.
Food here is what you expect. Fast and greasy but even more so than you're usual fried grub. Having said that, I do appriciate it for what it is when I'm hung over and need a fix. (it's near by and did I mention it's quick!?) I like the jalapeno peppers a lot with my fried chicken. Guilty, as charged. oh, and it's cheap which is a deal breaker for me.
Service sucks. The people working seem miserable and somehow it rubs off one way or another and I am miserable after too.
Ambiance is almost non-existant/ dirty. I don't eat here, ever.
Overall it's okay, I return but I doubt I'd recommend it to someone I liked or respected.
Why go to Church's when there's KFC in 2 min drive away? The quality of this place is just poor. Their chicken is greasy and the place isn't so clean. Washrooms were dirty. Employees were very unfriendly.
I am writing about the Church's on North Road since that one is not listed.
I normally prefer Church's over KFC but this North Road location seems to "do chicken wrong"! It is always tasteless. I had to add salt (lots!) to it and bake it again. That happened twice! Unfortunately, this is the one closest to my home... I am going to give it one LAST chance tonight!
Church's Chicken does not have good chicken, the coquitlam loction especailly. If you were to go on a busy hour chances are your gonna wait a while for chicken, but the chicken isn't bad. If you go after busy time, chances are your gonna get left overs that has been sitting on the rack for maybe an hour or longer. Ive tried the chicken burger here too and the chicken that i was given was soggy, dry and tastless. Of course you can always ask for freash chicken but it takes just too long wait (45mins). However the hotwings arent bad, but some of the time it comes burnt. The service is ok like most fast food. To be honest I dont know how this place has survived after all these years.
