Adequate Italian food

This place is solid, nothing more. Food was reasonably good although my steak dish was a bit more marbled than I like, service adequate, ambiance average. Prices a little on the high side. NO comparison to Rosa's Italian Cucina in nearby Port Moody but no wait.

Wow has this place fallen hard! Service was horrible and the food uneatable. I had been here on previous visit and reraly enjoyed, but Saturday was a true disappointment. White wine served at room temparature, 2 meals of 3 sent back, and not a manager in sight.
This is the reason why half ass restaurants like The Olive garden and Boston Pizza succeed and this one will not.

Inexpensive wine list. Generous portions and nice variety in pasta sauces. Love the decor, and friendly and attentive service (female server).

Will return for the atmosphere and the decently priced pasta but definitely not for the overpriced baked meringue dessert that's basically a pile of whipped cream for just under $7. The strawberry slices were few and thin while there is just much too much whipped cream. The baked foam would have been tasty enough to enjoy almost by itself, but definitely not worth the price.

Burnaby location better

I've only been to this location once, and I will never return. The service was absolutely horrid. The server/host would much rather talk on the phone, or flirt with people at the bar and/or the chef than to serve you. I was there for a quick lunch and lunch ran for about 1 1/2 hour. The food, in my opinion, is better at the Burnaby location. Great ambiance though, I'll give them that.

Not the best...

The "Popeye'' pasta dish was perhaps one of the grossest things I've ever encountered, there were toasted almonds scattered throughout the pasta which sounded nice but really just added an unpleasant texture and taste to the already dry pasta which came with almost no sauce; the chicken was overdone with charred marks scrapped off which made the meal taste like burnt tomato soup...very disappointed. The server was nice and expressed her regrets but did not offer any compensation or suggestion afterward. Will NOT be returning

Food: Large portions, which I always love. I have yet to really have a bad food experience there, unless you count the few times when there was way more pasta than there was sauce. A few times that it DID happen, the food did not taste good. Needless to say, a dish is ruined when the chef is cheap.
Service: I swear I've only came back a few times because of the portions of food there. Only one time out of probably the 10 times I've gone there have I liked the service. Last time my bf & I dined there, our server did not provide us with our side plates & cutlery for our bread & appies. When I DID ask for them, she came back with obvious dirty plates and questionable cutlery. We waited another 10 minutes before she came close enough for me to get her attention to change our dirty utensils. By then, our food was already cold. You'd think that the girls there would be smart enough to bring customers CLEAN things to eat off of/with. Another time we got dirty looks from our waitress for no reason. That whole night she ignored us. What server in their right mind has the gull to give customers dirty looks for no reason? Maybe it was because we were 20 & actually ordered alcoholic beverages & she didn't think to check our IDs before thinking we were too young to drink. She actually asked us if we were old enough but didn't have enough brains to ask for our IDs instead of insulting us.
Ambiance: The atmosphere is fun but dirty cutlery is just gross.
Overall: I'd probably go back maybe in a year or two if they're still around and I have a craving for good pasta and willing to withstand the horrible service and if they actually give us clean things to eat off of. Mind you, it was only that one time the girl was so dumb as to not check the plates and cutlery before giving it out to us, but that tells you a lot about the attitude and the level of care that a server has towards her customers, so I'd definitely not sit in her section ever again.

Food portions are big, quality is very low. Does a good job to selling the ambiance but if you are looking for good italian food this restaurant lacks in both taste and qualify of food. Pasta is over cooked, staff is both young and unknowledgable. I would not recommend this restaurant unless you are looking to meet with friends and have a few drink other than that thumbs down. Any normal person can not only duplicate there meals but probaly make them better for a much better price.

Suprised to read so many negative reviews! Have been there once for lunch and once for dinner and both times were a pleasant experience (both visits month of february) .
so many different variations on pastas! Various noodles (whole wheat, gluten free, etc) and endless sauces and ingrediants. There are other dinner options as well such as chicken, panini, pizza....and in each case the portions are huge. Even with a large appetite you will probably not be able to finish your pasta (much larger than Pasta Polo's portions)! I was left with a delicious left over dinner the following night. I went on a Thursday night and all their martini's were on special for $5!
The decor was modern and fresh and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Service was not slow, in fact it took less than 20 minutes for our meals, and in the meantime they provided us with garlic bread.

We went to the Coquitlam Anduccis Friday Afternoon for dinner and were surprised to find it vacated, upon asking next door at soccer world or whatever they are called I was told that the company went bankrupt and that the ownership had not paid rent or staff for months .. giving them bounced cheques. this sounded absurd since they have been a popular company for almost 20 years, so we went to the Guilford location and was told the same thing except they just closed on Wednesday, apparently the bank shut them down.. what a shame...

Past Anducci's experience meant my wife and I have frequented Milestones of late. However, an estimated 90 min wait offered neighboring Anducci's a second chance. The once confused chaotic atmosphere now possesses an intimate charm; refreshing, compared with the plastic corporate feel of many of its counterparts. Menu was long and numerous items listed were unavailable but tasty pasta satisfied and portions will provide a second treat tomorrow. Service was above average for out of the city dinning, in fact the gentleman serving us gave the place an authentic European flair. He convinced us to try the tiramisu offering to buy it for us if it was not the best tiramisu we had tried. His confidance was justified. Even if waits begin rivaling milestones we'll keep this place in mind.

After a long absense we decided to give Anducci's another try. We're Anton's people and have a hard time ordering pasta anywhere else. We were seated at a table near the front in the "pit." They had the lights set so low we couldn't read out menus. When the waitress came by and saw us using our cell phones to read the menus she told us she had been getting complaints all night. Later I saw her bring the manager over and point out the illumination (or lack thereof). The manager gave us a dismissive wave of her hand and walked away. Last time I darken their doorway. :) Oh, the food is ok but not up to Anton's standards by any means.

I have eaten at Anducci’s on a couple of occasions and overall I would say it’s an all around positive dining experience with tasty food, solid service, and a nice atmosphere. It’s headed in a more trendy direction for the food it servers vs. a classic Italian style, but if you want a lot of food for a decent price then it’s the place for you. You also must try the bruschetta, it’s really delicious. We will definitely good back.

I used to frequent Anducci's on Cameron St. Burnaby when they first opened. Then the sauces were the best in town, with great service and great ambiance.
When they opened in Coquitlam I thought it would be the same.
Now I find the sauces very bland, and service mediocre at best. Never any sign of management???

Not worth it.

Recently check it our after being dissapointed years ago and not coming back since.

The service seems worse.

I agree with several of the comments below in regards to poor service. Must be the same bimbo?

I specifically saved half my lasagna and half the sauce it was sitting in so I could have a nice ready to eat lunch for tomorrow. To my extreme dismay, when I opened to the take out container the next day all that was there was the dry half block of Lasagna. The woman had simply plucked it out of the bowl and discarded all the sauce and cheese that accompanied it. Lazy, stupid? Quite possibly both.

My wife and I have been to this location for years and are sad to see that there seems to have been a change in how things are being run. To start with, one by one, all the good, seasoned servers are gone. Carmen, Christy, Paul, Mike, Jennifer, Karley. We enjoyed going and sitting in a corner both and catching up with these kids (okay young adults) while having our meals. The last couple times we have been in, we have been very disappointed. the servers do not know the menu, and are not able to distinguish one wine from another. Our particular "un-favorite" is Courtney, who is quite rude, plays with her hair when talking to you, (and then handles the food?), and generally seems overwhelmed and confused. And then acts like it's our fault.

The kitchen staff seem to be younger and younger each time we go, with their pants hanging further and further down. We don't need to see a fifteen year old's boxer briefs while he's cooking our food. While has also gone down hill recently and actually decreased in size although still huge.

It seems this restaurant is going the direction of Earl's and Joey's and Sammy Pepper's by hiring attractive girls with no brains and cheap labor in the kitchen.

Too bad.

i have pretty good memories of anducci's from past visits to both this and the burnaby location. the menu is extensive and flexible, the way italian restaurants should be. however, my last two experiences have been marred by crappy service in one form or another.

the first bad experience, i came w/ my gf on a weekday evening when the restaurant was half-full so i was kind of surprised that the service was so slow. that wasn't the issue though. the portions were pretty large in comparison to other restaurants...this was good because both me and my gf are small eaters, so we ate half and packed up the rest. however, i don't know if the waitress misheard or whatever, but she accidentally threw away our food instead of packing it up. now the most i would have expected was some sort of compensation..the least i expected was an apology. what we got was neither. she didn't even mention it until after we paid (and tipped) and started to leave, and only after i asked about it. i was really annoyed and sorely disappointed. $40 is a lot to pay for half a sandwich and a few mouthfuls of pasta.

i came again a few months later because apparently they had a deal on mondays where if you finish your pasta, you get a voucher for a free pasta the next time you visit. now its on the menu and we were never told that the offer was over so we assumed it was valid. we ordered and ate our pasta (which was VERY oily) but were told when the the bill came that the offer wasn't valid anymore. we were pretty disappointed because that was the reason we came to eat there. apparently we weren't the only ones who were confused because as we were leaving, we saw a table of customers have a heated discussion w/ the managers over the same issue. i sure as hell won't come back to this establishment and i'm letting all my friends know my displeasure.

the only good thing i can say is that the restaurant looks great and is clean.

I was looking to try some new french food and noticed a review of Anducci. Having just celebrated my girlfriends 65th birthday there it sparked my interest. I could not agree more: this place is a classy romantic (although I accompanied 12 female friends) establishment with sincere staff. I couldn't believe some of the earlier negative reviews. Talk of flashlights brought to a restaurant speaks worlds of the type of odd folk not liking this place. Come on now, music and dim lighting provide the character that makes the anducis experience so special. I must say I miss the melt in your mouth bread and i do not fancy the oversize crouton replacement. The halibut was tasty, the Italian broccoli addictive and best of all the staff were a riot. Our server was great. I am tiered of the now commonplace glued on smile and pre-written waiter speeches. Our server's apron may not have been perfectly pressed but his voice was his own. He teased my girls almost as much as we did him. It was a real riot, I felt personally insulted reading some of the silly comments about this sincere satisfying restaurant.

My wife and I have been here a few times this year and every visit has been a disappointment. This is the last! We (two couples) sat for 20 minutes before we were asked if we would like a drink. Not only did it take us another 20 to get our drinks, but the order was incorrect. We ordered a bottle of Red Wine but received White… 55 minutes after we first sat down we finally received our wine and at that point the waitress asked for our food order. The food came within 25 minutes, cold but palatable. We complained and were told that they would be happy to redo the order but we chose to pay the bill and leave. Hello Milestones.

My family went for dinner middle of August and I have to say we all loved the decor but unfortunately, it went all downhill from there. After a few mins a hostess come to ask if the wine already supplied on the table was ok and when we told her we would not be needing the wine and glasses of water to start would be appreciated, she apparently she didn't like this as she gave us a snide look before she removed the wine bottle from the table. After a good 15 mins, the waitress finally came with our water and we ordered our food. We asked about the bread (which I was told was really good and was served before your meal) she said no problem. As we waited. we noticed that everyone around us had huge plates of food with lots of food left and they were all not being eaten. After a good 20 mins of no additional service, no refill of water nor any bread, our food arrived, while she nicely said the bread was coming. The sandwhich I had ordered burnt and no fillings whatsoever. The pasta my husband ordered was simply 2 pounds of dry noodles, and the kids pasta was soo full of pepper they could barely swallow it. Thank god the bread finally arrived cause that was the only thing we could reasonably eat, eventhough it was cold and fairly dry. We all left over 3/4 of our food and when the waitress came over we told her we were finished. She didn't even ask why we barely ate anything before she asked if we wanted it wrapped up to take home.I explained to her how are food was awful and all she had to say was Are you sure you don't want it to go? That is alot of food to throw away? Needless to say, we left and I noticed on my horrendous bill that there was a request to email comments, to the management. So I did and the response I received was that they can't please everyone all the time! What a joke! We will NEVER dine there again.

I have to say the interior at Anducci's is very well done. Cool colors makes for a nice atmosphere, good service, and some quality pasta's.

The place had been newly renovated about 2 years ago, and its turned out very well with upstairs sitting areas and downstairs
