First time trying this restaurant. Chilliwack lacks "good" Italian food. We were quickly greeted and seated. Nice and clean but tables are very close together, the guy behind me could nearly rub elbows with me.
Had a bottle of wine, that was nice and the fact that the server reminded us we could take the leftover bit home.
Appetizers were okay - caesar salad and lentil leek soup, nothing special here.
I had the tortellini alfredo; it was very salty and the sauce was very watery.
My compainion had Sal's special - fettucine noodles with steak slices on top; not well received, steak was not done to her liking and the sauce was too meaty and not flavourful.
Overall we were not impressed with the meals. Will not be returning and don't recommend!
Visited a few months ago, still have a positive mindset for this restaurant
It wasn't very busy when my dining companion and I arrived... service was friendly, prompt and impeccable. Being a Friday night, things got a little busier later in the evening - so it IS known as a good place to go for Italian.
Food was very good. I hate saying things like "pretty good for a town like Chilliwack", but I think it would stand up to many similar restaurants in the Lower Mainland.
Value? Expensive, but the food is good - fresh and well-prepared.
The room itself was spacious, subtly lit and clean. As were the washrooms.
Yes, I would go back again if I am in the area.
I don't know what happened to the review I did on this restaurant last year.
I find that they are way overpriced for what they offer and the food was not that good. When I commented on it to the waitress she just shrugged her shoulders. I left most of my dinner on the plate and she asked me if I would like to take the remainder home with me. What part of it's not very good didn't she understand.
I do not recommend
This restaurant is a little out of the way downtown. But well worth stopping in for a great dinner.I drove by it several times over the past year and always wanted to go in. This time I did. Once I opened the door I was blown away on how gorgeous this place was inside. The tables were set up with care and was a very romantic setting. Unfortunately I was the only one in there. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The menu has alot of selection for italian food lovers. All in all it was a great experience and the food was amazing. Prices are very reasonable and there is alot of care and experience put into their menu and food. The music was too the restaurant theme, and not too loud or quiet..just perfect. Would suggest going there to anyone I can. Guys impress your girlfriends here. This is the type of place our downtown needs to renew life into it.
We have been dining at this place for a couple of years now and actually crave the dishes that Tony and his son Dave put together. The location is not the best (downtown) however the food and service are well worth it. Their heart and soul are in this place. Prices are what one would expect for food of this quality. Great pasta and seafood dishes.
Family members asked us to meet them here for dinner. Located in the "downtown" part of Chilliwack there is lots of free parking for evening meals. The decor is modern and clean, with the obligatory red and white checkered tablecloths and subdued lighting. Italian music plays softly in the background, permitting ease of conversation at tables. A good sign is that the washrooms are spotless.
The menu is of course Italian and a decent number of items are on offer. I had the veal and mushroom sauce and was very pleased with the presentation and more importantly the flavors. The chocolate mousse was very good as well. Wine was ordered from a sufficient menu. Side dish portions were just right and prepared wonderfully.
There were four in our party, two of which dine there frequently. At the end of the day, no one had any complaints and all vowed to return at some point. They appear to do a brisk business in the take away department too.
The wait staff were attentive without being bothersome and know their business. Both had pleasant personalities that made us feel welcome. The folks of Chilliwack are indeed fortunate to have this restaurant. I believe it would be a good place for a romantic dinner.
