Great spot, very welcoming and value is great. I don't even live in Alberta, yet the owner Chris makes a point of chatting to most of the patrons and somehow remembers my name and what I drink everytime I go by (maybe 2x per year!)

Highly recommended, great drink specials and top notch wwings! Steaks to die for!

Take out pizza

We enjoy trying different pizza places in the neighborhood. Tonight was the worst I have ever tried to eat. The pizza crust soggy, the sauce bitter almost like the sauce had turned. The meat on the pizza was obviously from scraps and very greasy. Very disappointed and would not order from them again.

First of all we tried calling and no one answered after 15 or so rings. I hung up and called back and they answered. The person could barely understand what I was saying and was very gruff. I know English is not his first language and i'm happy to be patient, but this was above and beyond.

This is a fairly new restaurant to our area, so we thought we would give it a try. We ordered the following:

1. Chicken Fried Rice $9.95

Dry, not really fried rice at all, it just looked like it had a bit of soy sauce and peas in it, flavourless.

2. Sweet and Sour Pork $9.95

Just horrible, tough, fatty, basically inedible.

3. Beef in Satay Sauce $9.95

Not sure what was 'satay' about the sauce, but this was also so so tough. Lots of vegetables, unfortunately they didn't taste fresh.

4. Spring Roll

These were actually edible, although incredibly greasy.

Ended up eating a tiny bit then throwing most of it away.

The Management Was Atrocious!!!

I am of Asian descent; born and raised in Calgary. My family & I have tried several Asian restaurants in Calgary in particular, Vietnamese restaurants as it has always been our first choice of food fare. I can tell you that of all the Vietnamese restaurants we have tried in Calgary, this restaurant wins the award for the worst in terms of customer service and food portions. This occurred in early April. We both ordered Bun or Vietnamese noodle dishes which listed 3 different kinds of meat and showed generous portions in the pictures of their menu. We couldn't wait to eat and were excited to try a new restaurant. Our food arrived fairly quick but we were completely apalled by the portions. It looked like leftover crumbs of what you'd find at the bottom of a pan after you had dished out all the food. Maybe it was because we came an hour and a half before they closed. You literally had to dig through the noodles to find any meat or vegies for that matter which wasn't fresh. Each peice of microscopic meat tasted okay and was very mainstream but far from any quality Vietnamese restaurant we've ever tried. The worst part of this experience was when we tried to voice our opinion on the food, they got mad at us and told us its always been this way. We only had a couple of bites each of our dish because we wanted to show management our bowls and maybe there was some kind of mistake. No one acknowledged my attempt in trying to get waitress to see our food. She somehow knew we were not happy because she kept on avoiding my hand gestures to come to the table . After not getting a response, I got up and asked to speak to the Manager who I'm assuming was the daughter of the older man minding the till. When I showed her, she said you should of told us earlier because your bowls had already been eaten and there is nothing they could do about it. I was insulted that she insinuated that my mother & I were making this up. I told her that Ive lived here all my life and tried almost every Vietnamese restaurant in Calgary but nothing as bad as this then she freaked out right in front of the remaining customers there raising her voice at me and my 73 year old mother and my 1 1/2 year old baby I was holding. Again, we were told that its always been this way and no has ever complained. My Mom & I knew this would be a losing battle so we decided to just pay and go and then she started yelling at us waving her hands in the air for us to pay even though my Mom was holding out her debit card to pay. At one point, her father had to physically hold her back and I had to tell her to stop yelling and stop pointing her fingers for us to pay. We felt insulted that they even insinuated we wouldn't pay and we felt abused as a customer all because we were unhappy with the portion size and told them. We left starving and they still got our money out of us. I vowed to them that I would blog about how unprofessional and rude they were to us aside from their crappy portion size. So here it is. I hope no future customer will ever have to be on the receiving end of this woman's unfair and uncalled for wrath. I will continue to write about this injustice on other websites when I can because no customer ever deserves this and just when you thought you would enjoy a nice meal out. It makes you want to stay home and eat your meals.

This is probably one of the best East Indian restaurant near downtown where you can get excellent food within very reasonable price, only $10- $14/ person; depending on your choice of foods. Last week we had our marriage anniversary and wanted to eat out somewhere where we had never been. I was looking for some east-Indian restaurants and found PUSHPITA. I went there to explore and was surprised beyond my expectation. We were overwhelmed by the hospitality of the owner. He is very friendly and personaly looks after the well being of the costomers. When he learnt that it was a special occasion for us he treated us royaly and made us feel very special. The restaurant is very neat and clean, reasonably spacious and the food is excellent. Thanks to the chef as well. My recommendation: if you go there you will not be disappointed.

This quaint little restaurant has the most friendly and helpful server - outstanding service and the hot dogs were.......soooo good - This restaurant is eat in OR take out - and is absolutely worth a visit.

Don't be fooled by the title - they serve fresh made sandwiches - chicken plates and combos as well as their 100% all beef hot dogs. Toppings are plentiful - sauces are flavourful and their fresh fruit smoothies looked delish!

I had a great meal at Tandoori Knights an off beat take out restaurant. they have a wide selection of chicken and fish. The food is cooked fresh right in front and takes about 5 -7 minutes to get cooked. We were told that there is NO use of oil in the cooking process. The food is marinated in yogurt and spices. Try thier Chicken Malai tikka or the Chicken tikka in a naan.
The naans are so fresh and soft cooked there. We could not get any trace of oil in the food. A wonderful place for the money's worth.

It deserves the name "Big Bowl!!". My new fav restaurant!

A few of my co-workers and I came to this restaurant to see what the "Big Bowl" was about. We work just down the road from this restaurant, so it is very convenient for us. I ordered a spicy , but not too spicy, thai dish. This Thai dish has become my favourite since that day (#41 on the menu). My co-workers ordered a rice dish that came with chicken, beef and shrimp (gawd damn)!! My boss decided to try the pho. All I gotta say is.. THESE DISHES ARE HUGGGGEEE! The XL sized pho was humungous! It was larger than my head! They are delicious. But.. #41 is definitely the best on the menu (haven't tried it all yet). If you love Thai food, you must try this. It comes with the white flat noodles, egg, chicken, peanuts (sprinkled on top) and an amazing thai sauce. If you have a small appetite, bring 2 ppl to finish this. If you're the type of guy that can EAT, this will hit the spot!
