Ive been to Baci twice now, I went once during the lunch hours, and another during dinner. Both were different experiences and equally wonderful. During the lunch hours a colleague of mine recommended this place, I thought to myself why not! We started with the daily soup, which was a cream of mushroom with truffle oil. The flavors exploded into my mouth, and to this day I can still taste it. For my main I had a pasta feature ($13 spaghetti carbonara), It was exquisite. One of my friends ordered a pizza, which looked delicious, so I had to steal a bit.
The next week, I took my husband there for a romantic anniversary surprise, because they apparently had a wonderful band during dinner hours, and that was a true statement. The dinner was just as good as the lunch if not better. We have a wonderful memorable time, the service was excellent and the staff was very welcoming. The prices are reasonable, for the ideal night out. I recommend this one of a kind Italian restaurant to all people who are looking for good service and delicious food.
I came here with my boyfriend, we were welcomed at the door by a gentleman, he let us know that there were to be a bit of a wait and offered us a seat at the bar while we waited, we had a couple drinks, not too pricey at all, the bartender was so pleasant, the time went by very fast ! We got to our table next to a beautiful hand painted wall of what seemed to be a painting of italy, absolutely incredible. Our server was very experienced and made it easy for us to question the menu. I had the tortellini with a rich creamy mushroom sauce, the quality of the food is fantastic and the portion is very fair. The music started around 8 which was a beautiful surprise, we danced and so did almost the whole restaurant ! Its much more then your classic dinner for two, i loved the italian feel and I had a fantastic time, Baci is definitely more of a classy crowd. I would definitely recommend this restaurant :)
This is next to the Best Western motor inn, 1 block east of Kingsway + Royal Oak.
We clipped a coupon from the local paper. $ 5.99 for a classic burger, $ 12.99 for baby back ribs
They have a simple menu:
Classic Burgers starting at $ 10.99
Specialty Burgers starting at 12.99 ( vegetarian burger for $ 10.95 )
Pasta starting from 14.99 ( vegetarian fettucine for $ 13.49 )

I had the Classic Burger which included tomato, lettuce, red onion and a slice of cheese served with crispy fries and sweet ketchup.
DH had the baby back ribs served with half a slice of garlic toast, carrot coins, cauliflower, broccoli and mashed potatoes with a dark brown gravy.
The food was very tasty.
They only have Orange Pekoe tea at the moment $ 2.59
Starting January 14, 2013; they have a special offer of only $ 10.00 for any item.
Some iterms will be a better deal than others.
Last weekend I had dinner at Baci with a few of my frieds. First we had a drink at the bar, they sure have a great selection of Martinis. We tried a few but the one that was the big hit is the pommegranate one( I forgot the name). Once we were seated we listened to the specials, our server recomended to have the antipasto to start with, they can make the platter for as many as needed. It had a very nice selection. Some of us had prosecco, it's an italian sparkling wine, the boys had the draught beer, it is called the thirsty beaver, loved the name and the taste of it even more. I am always partial too a micro brewery. Next course we had a platter of pasta (love the family style dinning) it had tortellini with wid mushroom, gnocchi with 3 or 4 cheese sauce, and a nice spaghetti with tomato and fresh basil sauce. For wine we had the Killer Cab, it is made in New West from grapes from the Napa, wonderfull wine with a very reasonable price (under $60). For main we all had our own, I had the fish of the day, it was halibut with capers and fresh herbs, some of my freiends had veal with marsala sauce others had the cioppino ( a seafood stew). we were all very impressed with our dishes. The service was amazing the whole night, I like the way they work there, 1 person in charge of your table but everyone helps out. We never had to ask for anything, it is like they can read your mind. BRAVO.
Than the live music started, what a voice on that girl!!!! They were playing all kind of music, people were dancing, later on they started playing DJ music, all the new hits, by that time we were dancing too and having a couple of shooters at the bar. We stayed until the end. They called as a designated driver, nice touch. Over all we had the best time there in a very long time. We will be back soooon. Thank you all at Baci.
Sushi Town, among a bunch of it's competitors (Sushi Garden, Sushi Nanaimo, Sushi California, Sushiholic, etc.), is a Korean run Japanese restaurant. There's really not much to say about these place except they serve possibly the most awesome/amazing sushi in town. Fairly big rolls + ridiculously cheap/affordable prices = bang for your buck. Today, we will be reviewing Sushi Town's location in Burnaby, on Hastings Street.
Mangodise Roll - $4.95 (7/7)
If you're a fan of California Roll's, you will be a fan of this. It's essentially a California Roll with Ebi on top, topped off with some special yellow coloured Japanese mayo. We'll take this over the regular California Roll any day. Soya sauce? Who needs that! You can eat this roll as is, as it is packed with so many delicious flavours.
Awesome Roll - $6.95 (6/7)
Unlike Sushi Nanaimo (who gives you an option to substitute the bonito flakes for the yam chips) and Sushiholic, this Awesome Roll comes topped with bonito flakes. Again, the Awesome Roll is like your basic California Roll but with masago on the inside. Outside comes with an overwhelming (in a good way) amount of toppings such as: salmon, green onion, more masago, and of course, bonito. This combination may not look presentable and/or appetizing/appealing, but this roll, my readers, will blow. your. mind. Guaranteed. The taste is indescribable. It tastes just simply AWESOME. Don't go to Sushi Town without ordering this. Again, soya sauce is unneeded. In fact, try it WITHOUT the soya sauce so your tastebuds can experience the awesomeness that is this roll in all its glory.
Spicy Chopped Scallop Roll - $3.95 (4/7)
This roll was nothing out of the ordinary. Just your typical spicy chopped scallop roll. Soya sauce may be needed.
Sushi Town has about 4 locations total across the Lower Mainland, so be sure to give them a visit. If you've heard about/tried Sushi Garden, then you will definitely like this as it is the same. Service may be slightly better, but don't count on it. Parking available at the front and on the side streets.
We both have enjoyed the food here on several occasions, but nothing as good as the outstanding Prime Rib.
We found apps are good, and the apple dessert they make is their own and a real wow! Not too noisy here, just a pleasant place, and the Asian that served us was really good, fast, efficient and effective. We asked about for a certain recipe and the Manager came out to meet us. Loved this place, not ostentatious, but decidedly a good choice for a special dinner. We'll keep going back!
I come here with my friends at least once a month. Food is really tasty and the pop is bottomless for only $2.50. Nigiri is very nice and chewy. Maki Rools are decent size and very tasty. The chicken teriyaki and chicken karaage is very good. Spring Rolls taste microwaved but still edible with a topping is sweet and sour. Sashimi is decent. Not the best. Waiters seem to ignore you but get the job done. Order forms are never completely served. Tempura is decent. Chopped Scallop Cone is very good. Seaweed is crunchy and scallop tastes fresh. Udon is really nothing special. Late night $13.95 very worth it. Overall food is quite tasty, service needs work, price is worth it.
I've been here 2-3 times already and it is really a great sushi joint to pass by when you are around the area. Prices are decent and food is very tasty. Sushi rolls aren't the best but they are still very good. The sashimi tastes alright and comes in big chunks which I like but does not taste very fresh. Tempura is nothing special. Dining experience was normal. Waiters take forever to take your order because the place is always packed but food comes at a decent rate. The seaweed for the cones were soft which I don't like. Overall average food, cheap prices, will come back whenever I am craving sushi and am around the area.
I've lived in Burnaby for most of my life and I've always noticed this restaurant. Only today had I finally given it a try and I will definitely be going back in the future.
I ordered a bowl of Pho and their Delux burger for take-out. The bowl of Pho was moderate/average but the burger actually was pretty tasty.
While I was there I saw some fellow diners heart-fully greet & hug the owner, which showed me the restaurant had loyal customers.
I recommended anybody to try this place out. For their prices you can't really go wrong.
Friday night , my on again off again gf insisted on going to Joey and I have no problem with that because of the women but we had no reservations , the hostess was smiling and nice so was the waitress , it was a busy night but no the service was really good and friendly.. Food was good, drinks were recommended and right and would go back if they kept hiring this staff .
I used to take the 106 and it always passed by this korean restaurant in which I found the name unusual. However, I decided to look it up on dinehere.ca and the pictures looked quite appetizing! Decided to give it a try and I was not disappointed! I really enjoyed the ttukbaegi bulgogi and lunch hour makes a lot of things super cheap.. starts from 11 till 3! In my opinion, eating here during lunch hour will be the most worth it. Oh and in addition, they play kpop live performances from a while ago because it's most likely recorded.. so if you're a fan you will enjoy it but if you don't like kpop at all you will be very annoyed.
Ok about the food! The thing I always get is ttukbaegi bulgogi and it's pretty much soup with bulgogi (korean meat), japchae noodles, green onions, carrots, onions, and a few ricecakes with an egg boiling on top of all of it because it's in a stone bowl. It comes with rice as well as side dishes but then again side dishes are always included! They consist of kimchi that they give you scissors to cut because it's very long, beansprouts and seaweed.
Service isn't too bad either there are only like 2 waitresses working but since the place isn't too big they can easily see you. If not, there are those buzzer things you can press.
Thanks for reading this, hopefully it's not a crap review and seriously I really love coming here!
I am highly recommed this new restaurant. the food is soooooooooooooooooooooo greet. I order a sweet and sour pork, ginger beef and string green bean, all of them are wonderful. This place offer some Chinese dim sum as well. So people can get snack sometimes. one more things, service is friendly
Ugh. I've been here countless times and it's always done me solid, decently priced food and fairly quick service. Their alaska roll isn't bad with their special sauce and some of their special rolls are nice. However, the food may be alright but the service is atrocious. It's always been mediocre at best but today, I was about to eat a piece of ginger when I found a short hair (looked like a nose hair...yes, gross!) in the folds of it. I showed our server and she goes, "Oh... sorry. Sorry." And as I keep looking at her she goes "Um.. did you want me to tell the guys (cooks)? Sorry, I don't know what to do." Completely unprofessional. Even if you're new, basic customer service is common sense. I said "Yeah, at the very least." And when she comes back after a few minutes, she just said "Yeah we're really sorry about that." Absolutely no offer for compensation. With so many new and better sushi places out there with good food AND good service (Sushiholic is awesome), this was the last straw and Sushi Town has been crossed off my list.
I ordered 2 supreme pizza online from this location. The pizza arrived in a timely manner which was good unfortunately the pizzas were both wrong. They managed to charge me for the extra sauce I ordered and didn't manage to put it on the pizza which made for dry pizza. They also managed to half the pineaples (which was confirmed by the manager) when I had asked for double. They sure didn't forget to charge me for the doubling of pineaples or sauces.
The manager was unwilling to take the pizzas back and/or sending us the correct order explaining to us that we ordered online and that they had difficulties with the online system stating that next time we should call our order in. The manager was also unwilling to compensate for the extra sauce/ingredients which we paid for. He eventually passed the buck to a calling centre who also passed the buck to another phone number.
I will never order fro this location again. The way I see it, the manager charged me for 3 items and STOLE money from me even after it was pointed out that we paid extra for items we did not receive. Absolute disgrace and made for a garbage meal dealing with all this.
Apart from the fact that my partner had a knife that was coated with pasta sauce dropped on her black clothing and nothing was done to clean it up, we had food delivered that was not as ordered and food that arrived an hour after others had been served. One meal NEVER was served !
Drink waiters that can only take one drink order at a time. No idea which seat ordered what meal. Very little bussing of table.
I could go on, but this place is beyond description. This is the second time a similar occurrence has happened at this place.
Fool me once... another chance. Fool me again....never again !
Not a fan. I like inexpensive meals, but not if they taste like it. I had the curry pasta. Yuk. Weak, thin tasteless sauce. Very few of the vegetables in it, mostly just pasta. The alfredo was deemed bad as well. The only people who liked their meals were the people who had the chicken souvlaki. And they really only like if for the quantity, not the quality. A white carb-fest. Waitress would not give us separate bills. Would not return.
My friend and I were walking around metro town and we pondered upon stone grill and decided to have dinner here. We saw commercials on TV of this place so we decided to finally give it a try. We both ordered steak and it came out as a piece of fresh raw steak on a sizzling plate of rock which was very interesting. We thought it was a fresh new experience as we get to cook the steak the way I liked it with every piece. It was a much different experience from The Keg or Earl's where the steak comes out done the way you like it.
The cons of this place I would say is the ambience, it doesn't exactly put you in "steak mood" as the lights are quite bright. The price of this place is also not exactly the cheapest place to eat, but it's definitely a neat find. I would come here again on a special occasion!
my mother and i used to dine here alot. we ordered both take out and dine in. both were very exceptional. lately it seems the service and quality of food is lacking completely. because they used to be so good and top quality, the wait could be long, which is understandable for a great restaurant. on the last visit, which was tonight, we got there early so to beat the rush, there was one man waiting at the counter, one sitting in a chair for take out. and that was it. we ordered our food. it took an hour to get the first dish. other people that had arrived after us were getting dishes before us. we got our food and it was cold. the sauce was not up to its regular standard and the vegetables were looking like it was from earlier in the day. (reheadted) our whole order took almost an hour to get it all. i ordered a wonton noodle soup to go and asked it be ready when we leave. when the bill came i seen the soup was not on the bill, so i reminded the waiter, he went and came back with a new bill said my soup would be right out. i waited and waited, i was getting quite frustrated, i asked the waiter, he said it would be right out. i continued to wait, the owners and 1 waiter walking by getting all of this other food for other people. wonton noodle soup should be the first one out since it so quick to make. after waiting 20 minutes or so after paying the bill i seen a girl there behind the counter. i thought i would ask her instead. the owner piped up when he heard me and realized i was waiting for an order. he asked if i even paid for it. i said yes and showed him my bill. he said 2 minutes. it then was there right away. i told him how i thought the service and quality of the food was really lacking lately. he said when it gets busy it gets difficult to get food out on time. i told him we were the first ones here. he turned his back on me and didn't want to hear any more. i heard another customer at the same time complaining he had to wait almost an hour after he was told 20 minutes.
It was one of the most horrible restaurant experiences for us. First of all, we are not Korean and really felt unwelcomed. Should have walked out to begin with but we thought of giving it a chance.
When we walked into the restaurant, the gentleman standing in front asked "for how many people?"
There were four adult and toddler, we said, "four adult and a baby".
The gentleman asked us to seat and we didn't know if we were going to get a table or not.
Then after 10mins, he yells across the restaurant and puts us in a corner.
Since, we had a toddler; we expected a booster seat which we never got.
Our waitress's come and was taking our order when an older lady came and said something to her, from the way the woman talked (said it in Korean) to our waitress, we figured out that she said something about taking our order.
Given that we worked in customer service ourselves, we read the body language of the older woman that she said to her not to waste her time taking our order if we didn't know what we wanted to order but the waitress handled it well with the older lady and continued to take our order as we had already told her what we wanted.
Just like if you went to a different cultural restaurant, you would ask what they would recommend but in this restaurant, we never got an opportunity to ask.
We asked the waitress if the lady said to ignore us and take other people's order and our waitress made a statement that she is just like that.
We were very upset and felt very insulted with this older woman's behavior.
The food was okay and they all tasted the same. All the dishes we ordered had tons of onions.( ordered Bool GoGee, O Jing Uh Bool Go Gee, Dahg Bool Go Gee) . For the amount of money we spend here, if we went to anther restaurant, we would have not spend that much and got 80% better customer services.
This experience has definitely left a bitter taste in the mouth and we will never go back to this restaurant and probably hesitate to walk into another Korean restaurant after the way we felt.
The ONLY Good part was our kind waitress
Again, we really felt un welcomed in this restaurant because we weren't Korean and that is very sad!!!
Due to the snow fall, we decided to have lunch near where we live. We decided to give The House of Wings
another try. It has been a few years since we had gone before and they were still there, so I thought perhaps it might be ok.
The ambiance was like a dive bar with dirty carpet, chipped tables and the top of the table was sticky. We asked the waitress to wipe it off, she did so, and we soon realized it was still sticky.
I had the wings, The were so so... with just a shaker of spice sprinkled over my dry ones.
Rainbowcrab had fish and chips. The fish was actually ok looking and tasting, but the fries were cold and not fully cooked.
We had 2 servers. The female whispered and we could not hear her or understand her. The male was perky
and very nice.
Ok no more,,, and hope one day we will get another restaurant there.
