Wings Tap & Grill is a NY style wing place with a wide combination of wings and sauces. We are also a Sports bar, complete with a full menu featuring everything from salads to appetizers to burgers and a variety of pasta dishes.
My friend and I went to Wings on Sunday and they were offering 39cent wings. They have a variety of flavours we tried and definitely worth the trip there. The order takes long to process and get to your table. However, once the food came, we enjoyed it. Overall, a good experience and worth another try.
I just came home from this place with my boyfriend and his car club buddies. They come to wings every other week for their wings special, and this is my first time joining them. I am a vegetarian, and it's nice that they still have some things to order for people like me.. such as nachos, fries, yam fries, salads, and stuff like that.
I assume their wings are pretty darn good if they come every other week. They have a variety of different flavours and during the night with their special, it's like 36 cents or something per wing (if you buy at least 10 of that flavour). It was very crowded on a Sunday night. Even though the place was packed (with a line up!) the service was nice, our waitress always came back to ask how the food is, refilled our waters/drinks, and came back routinely to collect our plates (even though I noticed almost all are waitresses in low cut shirts and short skirts). One of the guys even tried the famous bobby wing, hahaha (he's okay). I ordered the nachos, which is $9. It was huge, with lots of toppings, cheese, green onions, anchovies, with guacomole dip (extra), salsa, and sour creem. It's pretty good with different kinds of tortilla chips. The service was a little slow, which is understandable for such a busy place. But it is kind of cramped seating if you have a group more than 5 or 6.
Honestly, their music could be turned down a little (top 20's kind of radio music) and yeah. I like how it's dimly litted. All in all, I'm sure it would be a great hang out for meat lovers, and it's semi-vegetarian friendly too.
Came here with my friend a few days ago for some drinks and their "famous" wings. Well it was I think a Tuesday nite and the place was pretty full, mostly young people ( a bit sketchy too, wannabe gangster types) but anyways we ordered their hot and maui wings. They were pretty dismal, they weren't even warm and not much flavour either. The beers were pretty good though, nice chilled glasses. Besides that, not much else to rave about. Would I go back? Maybe just for drinks.
I've only checked out Wings because of their Sunday 37 cent Wings deals, and was overall pleased with my experience. The wings are pretty good, none too dry and cooked just about right. Service was attentive and friendly, but the seats aren't the most comfortable, and can feel a bit crammed when the restaurant gets busy. Overall, would go again for some cheap wings.
The food here is not great - I had wings, and a burger and all four of my dining friends said the same thing - very average.
The server was average - not especially friendly and didn't screw up anything. Value was not bad given the food quality, and all in all, it was a nice place.
I'd give it another chance because even really good restaurants have bad days. But I wouldn't recommend it to someone else yet.
Food...I can throw a bottle of sauce over anything and do it for half the price.
Greek Salad was the worst I've ever had. I could smell the Kraft Greek Dressing soon as she put it on the table and with the first bite I knew I was right. As far as the actual salad is concerned, the tomatoes were pure mush, olives were sliced and from a tin, and the cucumbers were coated in a jelly, which clearly means they'd been sitting for a while before being used. All of that was piled on top of some romaine lettuce...seriously lettuce in a greek salad.
Second course...Spaghetti...I prefer Ragu...I'm not sure what they used, but it was from a bottle no question, and I have to admit this is the first time in my life I have been service spaghetti with carrots in it.
I can't speak for the wings personally, but my daughter and husband had them. From the look they were pre cooked, then re-heated. My daughter (age 9) said the buffalo wings weren't hot at all. My husband had their second hottest and said it was about a level 3...so he ordered their hottest and said that was an 11, but that they were just heat with absolutely no flavour at all.
Service...upon arriving the service was amazing, but the minute the food was on the table, we never saw her again. We had to find someone to give us our bill. No one even noticed most of the food on the table was left untouched.
Value...sure if you like crap, you get a lot of it for a fairly cheap price, but in my opinion, you'd get more satisfaction from spending your 20 bucks on a box of wings from costco and throwing some frank's red hot on them.
Ambiance...they are trying really hard to compete with the Joey's and Cactus Club feel, but they clearly have failed. While the TV's and Benches are nice...there is just something not quite right.
All in all if you're in that general area, do yourself a favour and keep driving to Joey's. It's more expensive yes, and you will have to wait for a table, but the food and service are outstanding. Better to spend 100 bucks and be satisfied than 50 and be completely disappointed.

My friends and I come here from pretty far away to eat here. It's one of the few places that have really great wings for a good price. The place is pretty loud when there's a game on. The crowd is generally pretty young, you don't see a lot of families here, mainly friends gathering to watch the game or something. The service is decent, always refills drinks pretty quick and always polite.
I've also had the ribs here and they were really good.
We went to wings for supper the other night and it was so loud in the restaurant that our group of nonsmokers opted to sit on the patio. We must allow for the fact that the Olympic mens hockey game (Canada VS Sweden) was on the television and there were more than a few people wearing team garb. so, aside from the fact that it was so loud inside that we couldn't here each other talking I'd say that wings was a pretty solid restaurant. I ordered a chicken burger and the chicken was a little dry but the flavour of the burger was great. The fries were wonderful and I sampled my friends entrees as well, everything tasted pretty good. Nothing to be amazed by though. The servers were attentive although we had to wait quite a while to pay our bills. A nice relaxed place to go with a group of friends.
I was reading the experiences that other people have had at this place and was surprized as the few times I've been here, I've had a good experience.
The ambience is cactus-club/earls like, but this is place is better because not only the is the food better, but the price as well. I love the wings here as well. Cheaper, bigger, and better than wingnuts when it was actually around. I've had great service the times I've been here as well.
During hockey nights the place dims down, the loud speakers/music turn on and becomes a lot more like a bar, so depending on the experience you're looking for, make sure to check if there is a hockey game the night you're going as it IS really loud during game night. At all other times it isn't though
We finally made it to Wings on Kingsway. I have been to the one downtown and enjoyed it.
However I was sad to see if still looking a lot like Pub Med that use to be there.
The flavour of the wings were good, but why oh why do they batter the wings?? Just something that does not need to be done!
My partner had the stir fry with chicken, she said she would have it again, but the rice was swimming in sauce.
Service was very slow. Considering it was near empty.
I also contacted the manager about the smoking on the enclosed patio. I thought that not ok any more. This part ruined my visit.
I came here last Sunday for wings and drinks and overall it was a pretty good experience, minus a rowdy drunk Caucasian man attempting to pick me up. How hard is it to just come in for drinks/food and wanting to have a great time without interruptions?
So, my second experience. The waitress was a complete ditz. My friend's food order didn't come because she had "forgotten" to write it down! Empty glasses weren't being cleared off my table. There was barely enough room with 1/4 of the table being empty glasses. Drinks didn't come at a steady pace because she had "lost her order receipt". The first apology is always accepted. After the fourth apology, everyone was silent and rolling their eyes back. Horrible. Don't get me wrong. The wings here are pretty good. There are many flavours to choose from. The fries are delicious, as with the fish and chips and the martini menu is very good. Drinks are well made, providing the waitress puts down the correct order... And the hottest wings are really really hot.
Too bad- I had hoped for so much more from this Wings location. I've been to others and they were great!
The food... sigh.... Ok, the wings were ok- tasted good, but I can't fathom why they would have won any awards for them. Maybe if the judges had never tasted real wings before?
Anyway, the pasta was boring and tasteless, the stirfy was more like a soup for all the sauce that was in it, and the lame burger was clearly once a frozen patty.
The service was really bad (friendly girls, but they seemed more interested in gossiping at the bar than serving customers). I lost track of how many times they mixed up our drink orders.
Don't sit near the patio door! Unfortunately, they allow smoking on the patio (very short sighted of them). So, whenever the back door is opened- all you smell is smoke wafting in. It's revolting. May as well have them smoking at your table. That was the straw on the camel's back for us. At least our server could have asked if we preferred to be far away from the patio door (smoke zone) or not....
Last, but not least- the decor. It was clearly some college guy's idea of 'classy-restaurant-meets bar-meets-sports-pub'. Decide what you want to be already. Do you want to be a restaurant or a pub?
AVOID THIS WINGS LOCATION! It could have changed 160 degrees from the old ratty PubMed that it used to be.... oh well.
I have visited the Granville St Wings a few times and never really been impressed. I visited the brand new Burnaby location tonight and it was great! The server was attentive and all staff seemed to be happy to be there. The wings were tasty and filling. I would reccomend this location to those who love wings and were disappointed with the downtown store. This location was much better!
I had heard alot about the new wings and was looking forward to going there and seeing what the place was all about but was very confused by the whole experience of it. the decor was 'nice' - seemed like a cactus club wanna be style designed by a noob. but what was more confusing despite the level of decor were the patrons. many of them were wearing the east van jean jacket flannel shirt type thing. just didnt seem to match the place. they were also all older people in their 40-50s. basically it looked like they all got off work from a lumber mill and went there(maybe they did?) anyways i went there with my gf expecting a earls cactus type thing and was surprised that it definitely was not the case. the food took way too long to arrive and was not really that great - i mean theyre wings - fry em and toss them in sauce - how hard is that - no gourmet secrets there.
if you're looking for a place to take your gf for a nice casual dinner, or you're an upbeat group in your 20's - i would not recommend this place - you will be disappointed. we regretted going there and basically ate as fast as we could so we could go somewhere else.
