This 160 seat restaurant will showcase our new contemporary West Coast décor with river rock fireplaces, water features and rich woods.
Great looking restaurant, worthy of being the flagship of BC's iconic restaurant chain. Service is not the fastest but always at a steady pace. They make you wait for a table but once you get seated you notice there are 3 empty tables so why did we have to wait.? My guess is table turnover is not a priority. For lunch I had fish and chips. Grossly over cooked. I complained to the waiter (Josh) and he immediately stated they would be replaced and to just pick at the chips. A minute later Josh returns with 2 $5.00 coupons for use at dinner time in the future. 10 minutes after that the fish and chips arrive. While it was better it was not the best. I am now wondering if this is the training center for aspiring cooks and chefs. Anyhow $35.00 for 2 lunches seems a little much. White Spot always charged more then other comparable eateries and it was always worth it until now.
As a previous reviewer mentioned, this is a new location with nicer decor. It has a decent patio. You don't really notice Marine.
The servers are very nice and yes nice to kids too!
The taste of BC choices are always good.
I do miss the drinks being IN the pirate boat and not beside it. And the chocolate coins melt under the hot food in the boat.
Food - Can't really complain about the food, it's always bang on. I had my usual White Spot Club on sourdough with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was prepared perfectly and the fries came out hot. My wife had her Toasted Shrimp Sandwich and that was also made perfectly.
Service - I was really impressed with the service that we received. Right when we came in, the hostesses greeted us right away and we were seated shortly. Our server was very helpful and attentive. Even with our 8 year old nephew, she was very attentive to him and didn't treat him like a know-nothing kid. Even with the floor manager, she was always making sure we were helped and we had everything we needed. As we ate, I noticed that most of the staff would communicate with each other. To me that shows that they are organized and actually care about customers. It shows that they display a good concept of teamwork, which proved to be effective.
Value - It's your usual prices for a buger plater and drinks. Quite affordable and the portions are well worth what you pay. Not to mention the quality of each item is also there.
Ambiance - With this particular location being a bit newer, it's quite nice there. It's not cramped or tihgt on space. Very nice lighting and atmosphere. It felt really cozy and comfortable. The washrooms were also clean and user friendly.
