This place is super for a great lunch at a fantastic value!
My sister and I shared their noodle with meat sauce, steamed Shanghai dumplings and their Crispy Salt and Peppery Chicken.
The best dish was the chicken. Deep fried morsels with a light S&P batter served fried basil leaves on rice. Also came with 2 small sides: marinated tofu and this awesome marinated cucumber. For $5.95 - this is definitely a great find!
The dumplings were good, but my only complain about them were that most of them were punctured at the bottom and resulted in no "dumpling soup". :(
It's a very small restaurant, only about 8 tables or so, but I give them extra points for being clean!
Of the two dishes we ordered, I'd give the "eggplant in plum sauce" 4 stars, and the "stir-fried squid with chili pepper" 2 stars. The squid was too dry and hard and the taste was kind of bland. Service was pretty good; the two waitresses were both friendly and courteous. The restaurant is very small, and kept very clean. I wish the chairs were a bit more comfy though. Overall, a solid performance all around. Worth a try.
A while ago I had an early dinner here. I had the steamed Shanghai dumplings and Crispy Salt and Peppery Chicken. The dumplings were okay, but I nothing special. I have had other ones nearby and they were better. The chicken was tasty but without a wow factor.
Clean restaurant, with relatively fast service. Good if you are in the area and craving relatively cheap chinese food.
Since I've moved into this neighbourhood in November, my family and I have been a regular customer. It was so nice to have a great chinese restaurant within walking distance. We have been here for their lunch special for $5.95 which is an amazing deal. Dinner was good also, as well as their take out orders. We had great service from staff. No complaints here.
My favorite dish is their deep fried crispy chicken, chicken wings and their chinese sausage fried rice. Their fried rice was only $6.25 which in my opinion is the best, because there are very few restaurants that makes chinese sausage fried rice. Don't know why. I prefer that than BBQ pork fried rice.
Their xiao long bao isn't the greatest, I rather drive to Richmond for that. Overall, their food is very good. I don't need to drive to Richmond for my Shanghai food fix.
Wen Xin is a small restaurant with only 7 tables, and its clean. Worth a visit if you're in south Burnaby area.
my friends and I have been to this restaurant regularily. this place is awesome. they serve delish chinese food and the food comes really fast. and they have many choice for us to decide. we particlular like the spicy food here because it really brings the real flavor of typical and traditional chinese cuisine. the price is affordable as well. the only downside is that the restaurant is quite small. particuarily in weekend we might have to make reservation and be there on time since there is always alot people going there.
