We sometimes have pizza parties at our workplace, and I was looking to order something different than the usual chain. I live by Sarpino's and have often driven by it. Seeing the good reviews on here, I decided to give them a call to see if they were willing to deliver more than 10 kms away. He was more than happy to deliver since we order 20+ pizzas.
The pizza selection is unlike any I've seen elsewhere. Aside from the usual pizza fare, they have so much more selection to choose from! It's true the prices are a little more expensive than say Pizza Hut or Panago, considering the amount of different toppings per pie, I'd say it's a good deal. And because of the amount of different toppings, the taste of the pizzas are spectacular!
Ambiance is just another pizza joint - it's not a dine in place.
My only complaint was that they were quite a bit late in delivering the pizzas - almost by 1/2 hour. Try explaining that to a hungry lunch mob of 60 ppl. To be fair, we gave them 2 locations to deliver to, and the owner said he had to return back to the shop to grab the others so that it would not get cold. His consideration for quality over saving time paid off - to this day, people can't stop talking about their pizzas! Guess where I'll be ordering from for our next pizza party?
This is one of my favourite pizzas EVER!!! Fresh flavours. Just don't plan on kissing anyone after unless they ate it too ;)
These guys have consistently delivered top notch pizza to our office for a really decent price considering the quality of ingredients - no chemicalized cheese here.
Not sure about the Ambiance as we've only ever had take out from them, so I voted average.....
Can anyone recommend where to get great pizza in the Heights? Because Sarpino's is no longer that place.
Sadly, Sarpino's ownership changed hands in March and things have been steadily going downhill since. The pizza has become lackluster and slightly burnt.
Previously, when we would call in our order, they had a system that had our contact information come up (address & phone number). However, the last time we called, they took a very long time to answer the phone and no longer had our information on file. There seemed to be a lot of confusion on the part of the person taking our order. We also had to phone back after an hour of no pizza, to check on the order, to make sure it was even on the way.
We live in walking distance of Sarpino's and when the pizza finally did arrive a $1.99 fuel surcharge was added to our bill.
How incredibly disappointing and annoying. Sarpino's had been our favourite for years. We will not be calling Sarpino's again.
After gym last Friday I was walking along Hastings when I saw a hospitable looking member of the staff walk back into The Sarapino's Pizzeria. Thinking "hmm he looks like a friendly chap," I walked in and inquired about their gourmet varieties. The chap was able to recommend 'the pesto lovers' pizza which he modified for me for no additional cost (he added fresh spinach as a topping for my personal pan). I sat there and enjoyed what I reconned to the most delicious and filling pizza I had had in a long time. For those of you who are getting a bit bored of the given few franchises catering to the fortnightly pizza outing, I suggest you try out Sarpino' s. There is very little room for disappointment, but as far as seating space is concerned, I' d not take out 25 friends to their Hastings location. But yes, I would, over next super bowl or any other event let Sarpino' s take care of the catering: it would in matter of taste and quality, put my mind at easy.
This place is fantastic. We first tried this place on hats off day in Burnaby, tried a slice and ended up ordering 2 larges. Fresh ingredients, and full of toppings. Great service by all the staff. Ambiance could be better, but it's not really a dine in place.
Try it you won't be disappointed!
If you are looking for well priced and flavourful pizza, this is the place to go. The pizzas are always perfectly cooked with lots of toppings. And the sauce is amazing.
The family that runs this place are always very friendly. They don't just sell you your food and send you on your way. They also take the time to have a conversation with you. However, this doesn't keep them from pumping out the pizza quickly. I've never had to wait more then 20 minutes regardless of pickup or delivery.
This isn't the kind of place where you'd bring a date for a cozy, romantic dinner, but it's a pizza joint. It's the kind of place you go to pick up food for home, or to quickly stop a grumbling stomach. All that's important to me is that it's CLEAN. And this place is. I like that you can ever see every inch of the kitchen area.
I tried this place on a whim after living in the area for several years. So glad I did!
