State-of-the-art building was designed with stunning views and serenity in mind. Our 140 seat secluded patio is unique to the area and is a great place to relax after 18 holes, to enjoy a romantic dinner at sunset, or to hold a meeting on a sunny day.
We went for a nice dinner after work. Unfortunately most of the restaurant had been taken over for a wedding. Only one small area was closed off for the other people. Unfortunately the whole night felt like the other diners were secondary, with no reduction in prices. They should have just closed the place for the night rather than trying to do both. At first there was no music at all. Then we were treated to the "check check check" of the microphone for 10 minutes. After that we got to listen to rude and unfunny speacheds from wedding people. Fun atmosphere for us when we couldn't even see what was going on because of the divider. The dining room was mostly empty the whole time too. Then they came at 7 and said they hoped we didn't want anything else because the kitchen was closing to concentrate on the wedding.
The food was really very average at best. After reading the reviews here I was hoping for much more. The salmon burger was not a "burger" but rather a a filet (very fishy flavored sockeye) which fell apart. It was supposed to have some very flavourful "aoli" but I could taste nothing but overpowering fish. I was not a fan - it was over $14. The chicken burger similarily was a chicken piece with brie and avocado which should have been delicious but didn't work. It was not finished. Fries were average to BORING, also not finished.
None of the desserts interested us. The waiter howwever was top notch!
Had a great anniversary dinner here on Thursday Night. Great meal . there was only one waiter there who served as the host and bartender. It wasn't that crowded but it did take awhile to order etc. I had the tomato salad for my starter and my husband had the a soup with a poached salmon. We enjoyed these. For entrees I had the tenderloin of beef and it was cooked perfectly and very tender.We didn't have dessert but they did have some very tempting dishes on the menu. If you want an excellent meal and have lots of time this is an great dining option.
I had read on their website that it's fine dining in the evening. When we arrived we were impressed by the architecture, but the table we were seated at had water marks. (no filled glasses on our table so must have not been wiped down). and and the TV was on. Golf courses are great to eat at for casual dining, but we were out for a special evening so I was not really impressed, and didn't help that it was overcast so the view wasn't that great either. One group of tables was joined together for a bigger group and you could see a different set of tables and chairs in half the room of a wide open expanse which didn't make sense and the carpet looked a bit ragged and a room divider was pulled across one section to keep it separate.
The food we had was beautifully presented though and the service was quite good. We had the price fixe menu and started out with salads that were delicious, mains that were so beautiful, I wanted to take a picture and yummy chocolate desserts. I'd go back to eat there on a sunny day for a casual lunch definitely, but not for dinner again.
As I think of Byrne/Fraser Foreshore area as very industrial I was surprised to find a hidden gem of a restaurant in the midst. What a beautiful building and a stunning view! First time dining here but will not be our last. Wonderful food, service and a great extensive wine list - love the VQA selection!
The pear salad was to die for, and the monstrous house burger served with both regular and yam fries was absolutely delicious. The serving staff let us know that they will be launching a new fall menu in the next couple of weeks in which we will most definitely be back to try!
This is our go to place for comfort food. Drove Over Last night with my beautiful wife for a special night we had settled on fish and where better to have it than near the water? Great fish and salad, lots of good draft, complete full tummys. Salad was scooped out fast by both of us it was even spicy a little that really worked. We recommend it Love the fish burger with salad and so much French Fries you can't ask for more. Tap is cheap daft. Waitress is experienced but good lookin. Great place to meet with buds and put a couple back too.
My workplace is located in the (very) South Burnaby area where "Riverway" is located. I generally think of this area (Byrne Road, North Fraser Way to Boundary) as a sprawly, dull, grey business park full of boxy structures that is seriously lacking in social niceties and, if you exclude Market Crossing, offers very limited eating out choices.
So when my husband drove us up Bill Fox Way this past Monday, I had a really hard time believing the beautiful restaurant and type of cuisine advertised on a smart-looking post card that arrived with our mail was at the end of this short road.
However, as we entered the well landscaped parking lot and I set eyes on the building that houses the restaurant, my first thoughts were: "Are we in the Okanagan?" and "Where is the winery?" Wow, I was (very pleasantly) stunned.
We had lunch on the patio, looking at a pond surrounded by golf course lands. To my right were bushes with a pair of bright yellow capped birds flying in and out of them - birds that I think I have never seen in the area, or anyplace else for that matter.
We did wait about half an hour for our meal, which is a little long when you only have an hour for a lunchbreak. However, the "mahi-mahi burger" with fries (potato and yam) was absolutely delicious and well worth the wait. I had the "croque monsieur" with salad, which was good too, but I enjoyed my husband's choice more.
How relaxing! Sitting at this restaurant is truly an experience that everyone in the area should try at least once.
We had passed by the South Burnaby Riverway Golf Course many times, on our way for a walk along the Fraser River, but we did not know there was that beautiful restaurant, just steps away from Byrne.
We really enjoyed the trio seafood appetizer, sweet Lobster Baguettes and the Mahi-Mahi seafood along with a glass of wine. We had a great time, it was a nice and relaxing evening, after a long day at work.
The service was excellent. We were not in a rush, so we really enjoyed every minute having our dinner on the patio
This was our first time at the restaurant. Excellent food and service! ,everything was great. Including our waitress, she was so good and so helpful. All six of us loved our food.
This is a Beautiful restaurant in Burnaby and one of our favorites in city, Keep up the great work guys.
