The better one?

After a little shopping we stopped for some drinks, and ended up ordering some food for an early dinner.

The space is open and tables are spread apart with the standard bubble tea decor wafting throughout the room.

We went with a seafood hotpot, a crepe, a beef roll and a wonton noodle with various drinks. The green onion pancake was a thin variety, lacking enough surface area to sop up the hoisin sauce, which overpowered the sliced beef. The wontons were the dwarf species but had a nice mix of pork and vegetable. Noodles were a homemade beef noodle style rather than the usual, a nice surprise. My slush was about average for a slush.

Service is slow but expected for this type of dining. We didn't see our server again only until her shift was over and wanted to settle up. Again, expected.

We may have to stop going to their Kerrisdale location after this visit.

Food was a disaster

I only tried this place once and I think once was enough. The food here tasted like it was microwaved when you ordered it. I had the tepannyaki chicken and I chicken was almost non-existent. The rice was also funky. Kinda like it was sitting there for a while from the previous day. The hot fruit tea that I had was nothing more than orange powder in hot water. I expected some real fruit chunks like in other restaurants but perhaps I was expecting too much.

Mrs. C and I were in the Future Shop ogling the computers when we decided to get some liquid refreshment. OC was nearby. The place could be a little tidier, but it was nicely appointed and convenient, so that was a plus. Surprisingly, the w/c was clean-ish. Service was okay, but we were not exactly pampered.

They offer both crepes and BBT, which in my estimation is a pretty good combination. Since we weren't particularly hungry we shared a banana milk tea. It tasted fine but was a little on the pricey side. I will definitely come back to try out some crepes next time I am in the area.
