Try our signature dish " Omori Jjigae"
Had lunch here a little while ago with my friend. Was quite empty but the servers were friendly. When trying to order, the waitress seemed to try hard to give me suggestions and was being quite helpful. Heard the noodles being made, which seemed quite loud.
Got two types of noodles, one seafood in a spicy soup, and one dry one with a bean sauce. Also had their fried chicken with hot and sweet sauce. The chicken was tasty but had too much coating, not enough chicken. The soups were only okay, even though the noodles seemed freshly made.
Service was great at the beginning, but disappeared once we got our food. Would not be back, since other korean restaurants in the area are better.
My friends and I were looking for a place to have a dinner as we were all hungry, and bored. So we tried out this new place called "Omori Korean Restaurant," but at the first glance of the restaurant billboard with the name "Omogari" we were already confused to what its actual title was.
As we walked in, we expected a hearty welcome, seeing as how new the store is, but I don't think anyone said anything until someone from our group said "hello...can we have a table for four?" then we were guided to our table close the the kitchen. on the way to my seat I found a free toonie lying on a spare table. Out of pure kindness, I handed it to the main waiter that seated us and I said "i found this over there." Despite his oblivious reply, he took it by one hand, and without really caring much, I headed over to my seated friends.
So now we were eager to try out the "handmade" Jjajangmyun. Being a traditional Korean dish and all, we had expected Koreans preparing the noodles. But no. They were all chinese. I am not intending on offending any chinese persons, but it was just rude to offer "Korean hand prepared Jjajangmyun" and the ones who were making them were Koreans. Being Korean ourselves, we were truly dissappointed...and betrayed. One time, one of the chinese cooks suddenly took out his cell phone from his pocket, and started talking on it. I mean...during his preparation of the noodles. One minute he's touching the noodles, and one minute he's on his phone speaking with whoever that's so important as to not care that customers are watching you make the noodles.
Now if I think about it, we were abserving the chinese cooks for about 20 minutes, and we didn't even know what to order...because we never got the menus. It wasn't even busy that hour, and the waiter was just at his desk and we were just staring at people. We finally got it, after we asked for it.
Although I quite forgot what ordered, it has no significance towards the overall rating I'm going to give to this store. Anyways, my friend got the Sachun-Jjajang (a spicy variation of Jjajang Myun) and the others ordered Gganpoonggi/Kan-poong-gi (Fried chicken with spicy sauce and vegetables). The portions were so sad I decided to not eat, and let my friends have it all. However they pushed me to try some, so I did. The taste was like a generic supermarket takeout food. And at such high prices, I was bedazzeld, as were my friends.
So after we left, we discussed that we are never again coming to this store ever again. We would rather go to Daeji or Ddogaubee(Doo-Ggau-Bee...I don't know why they spelled it so weird). I told my family about this store, and how it should be stayed away from. But my mom went with some people, only to feel the exact same ripoff as my friends and I experienced. I told you so mom.
Overall, failure as a brand new restaurant...heck failure, period. Go study how to properly run a decent restaurant and teach your staff a thing or two about clean food preparations.
