Mucho Burrito is a fast food Mexican chain making freshly made and to order burritos, quesadillas, tacos and salad bowls.
I was excited when i read the other review. Grilled Veggies? Wow I can't wait.
The burritos come in 3 sizes. A medium is normal to large size. Ok so they rave about their meat and maybe it's good but I had a veggie so that's all I can speak of. Grilled veggies? Bringem on! What? The grilled veggies are that bin of onions and green pepper? No broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, squash or other great veggie. Ok I guess I'll have those. Then add the rice, salsa, miniscule teaspoon of cheese and plain beans. Looks pretty much like Taco del Mar to me. A small smattering of guacamole, which was not extra like Td M, was added and it was done. Oh yeah I liked that they had tomatillo salsa. The finished product tasted pretty much exactly like Taco del Mar too, expcept the annoying fact the that "grilled veggies" I mean onions and peppers were cold and half raw. Not pleasing.
All in all I would not seek it out again but would go if I was with a group. The price was not $2 for a combo as the previous reviewer said. That must be the upgrade cuz my burrito cost over $7 - more than T d M.
The restaurant itself was more "upscale" then the cheesey TdM franchises, with brick on the walls and actual high back booths to sit in. Nice. A very large selection of aftermarket hot sauces were out as well. But, unless the meat is fantastic, it's just really a cleaner Taco del Mar.
Had lunch here twice and tried out the burrito. They freshly grill their veggies and it makes the burrito quite tasty. They have a few different kinds of meat such as chicken, beef, pork and fish. I tried the beef steak and one of the chicken choices, both were great. They also offer fresh cilantro which is something other Mexican fast food places don't offer. Definitely better than taco bell or taco time, but also more pricey.
Value wise it is decent, you can get a combo for about $2, a can of pop and some salsa and chips. I found the salsa portions quite small, but at least it is relatively cheap to add a combo. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. Would go back if in the area.
