Cantonese & Szechuan food
I have been ordering from this place for years and used to love it. The food was great and of a good value and the service was good too. My last experience was so terrible that I actually created an account here just so that I could tell you about the terrible service.
I always place my order online and then they call to confirm everything so my address is not a secret. They even charge me a little extra becasue I am beyond the 10km delivery radius. This has never been an issue in the past.
We orderd from here a few weeks ago and the food was not as good as it had been before. We were a bit perplexed and a little put out becasue we had been telling the friends who were over for dinner that this was the greatest place ever. They told us about a place that they order from and we confidently said that this was the "best" Chinese food they would find here. It wasn't great and we were left eating our words (with our not great food).
We decided that maybe that had just been an off night and so we ordered from tehm again this last weekend. After we had confirmed the order, they called us back to remind us that extra charges would apply because we were a little farther out and we agreed.
The delivery guy told us to "never order form them again" becasue we were too far for him to drive when he arrived ahead of schedule. We explained that we had been customers for years and he said that was impossible becasue he had never delivered to us before. He said again that we should never order from them again and left.
I called the manager to see if there was a problem with our order and he said that we were farther and had been charged for the additiona distance. I asked why we had not been told that we couldn't order and he just kept saying that it would cost us more money.
Considering the fact that their food isn't as good as it used to be and now we have rude delivery drivers on top of it, I don't think we'll be ordering from this place again.
I tried this restaurant after reading the review below. Tucked away of Canada Way, it was a pleasant surprise. I presume you could eat in (the tables were neat and clean but there were only three), but it is certainly worth the slightly higher price for take out. Fresh, crunchy greens accompanied the House Chop Suey and the ginger beef was spicy and flavourful. I couldn't detect any MSG either. I will certainly be ordering from here again as the service was prompt (five minutes between order time and pick up) and it was well well worth it!
I was having a bad day yesterday and ordered myself some Chinese food as a treat. The gentleman on the phone was very pleasant and let me substitute green peppers for mushrooms on one of my dishes. The food came within 30 mins and was very hot.
The food was FANTASTIC!! I loved the dishes I ordered and even the free mixed veggies with cashew nuts was fabulous. Great job to the staff at Ming Kee!
I love how I can re-use the containers. Very handy!!
