Grabbed a quick lunch there today, had a lunch box and assorted sashimi.
Lunch box items were lukewarm and the california roll had eerie taste.
Fishy taste lingers in my mouth 2 hours after finishing the sashimi--good indication that sashimi slices were stall.
Although operated under the same name, this restaurant is having new management--unfortunately an inferior one. I miss the old Miki.
Will never be back again.
Miki Sushi must have been temporarily closed after their old building was demo'd and rebuilt on the same property just west of Willingdon & Lougheed. I was eager to check out their new digs so we stopped by Friday night. Yes, the interior is now clean and new. But the food had not improved. The spicy edamame was unique but I could tell they were using the cheap chinese-brand edamame which has no taste. Same goes for the Agedashi tofu - lacks the taste of the traditional dish. The sushi was ok; I ordered Uni, Hamachi nigiris and a couple of rolls but it was nothing special. Service was friendly but a little slow and forgetful. Looked like the staff was working hard and the place was busy. So really, the only thing they need to work on is improving the food.
