A tea house by the T&T at Metrotown
Though not on my own accord, the gf ventures here with me in tow when we're in the vicinity and milk tea is what she craves.
The milk tea itself is a nice balance with the tea portion leading the charge. It's not too sweet while the pearls tend to be fairly consistent. Not too chewy and not too firm.
The service is atrocious here, and I'm not even the one ordering. Again the staffers here are the younger types but we seem to get the ones with the mean streak. Wait times vary but can actually take a while as orders don't necessarily go according to order sequence. The customers themselves also don't lend itself to the overall experience.
Though secluded into a corner of the mall, it's next to T&T so it's heavy traffic doesn't help the cause. Luckily, they do have a big enough area to mingle around when you line up and as you wait for your order.
Damned if I come here but unfortunately I feel like I'll still make the odd appearance (in tow).
I was bopping around Metrotown and I craved some tea. Near the T&T I found this small teahouse. They have a good selection of bubble and milk teas, and some of the teas feature fresh fruit juice.
I had a pineapple milk tea with slush and no pearls. It was very good, and the fresh juice made a huge difference over powder! The slush option made it more like a milkshake than a milk tea, and it was very tasty. This place usually has a lineup, but the servers are quick, and the preparation is good.
Plus it was not expensive.
The Little Tea House i am looking for is actually located right across Superstore at Metrotown, but i couldn't find it here. So mind as well writing it here as if they're franchised.
I used to love buying drinks from Little Tea House, and I had been a regular customer for almost 3 years. Every time when i went to Metrotown, i would get a drink from there. However, the thing i experienced yesterday totally changed my feeling towards this restaurant! I would like to talk about my unpleasant experience from yesterday here!
I ordered a honey green tea with pearls; the drink itself was fine, but the pearls tasted like CRAP as if it's not sweet at all! as we all know, pearls are supposed to be sweet, not tasteless. Since i had to pay for the pearls, i went back and asked the staff if i could get coconut jelly instead since the pearls were tasteless. However, the first staff told me that it's supposed to taste like that. Then i told her that there's something wrong with the pearls when they're not sweet. I was polite when i first requested for the exchange, but I turned furious when I overheard a male staff saying "such a degrading person"(in Mandarin) i was so shocked and furious when i heard it. I asked my friend if she heard the same thing while that female staff dropped off the bubble tea to me. She heard what i said to my friend and told that guy about it, then that guy acted so cocky and laughed. I couldn't understand where that attitude came from when i was only there asking for an exchange. So, I confronted him and asked him in Mandarin, " did you just say I was a degrading person?", then he replied arrogantly, " Did i say it's you?".
This is a really upsetting experience and I don't understand how the boss trained his/her staff! I also wonder how come their staff don't speak fluent English, are they Canadians though?
I hope it's just one incident. However, I must say i would never go back there again unless I am looking for another assault!
After a visit to Little Tea House yesterday, I ordered a Coconut Bubble Milk Tea. I could taste how it isn't mainly composed of powder. Very good fruit slushs and milk teas. With their bubble tea made out of fresh fruit, it really makes a difference in the Bubble Tea society.
Food: Bubble(Tapioca) was chewy, very good. The milk tea itself was delicious, the coconut milk tea was composed of real coconut I believe, that's what makes it different from other Bubble Tea joints.
Service: Was awkward when cashier asked "With or without 'bubbles'" which was weird. But service was quick and friendly-enough to leave a positive mark.
Value: Food quality was well worth the 3.50. I have found my new Bubble Tea joint.
Ambiance: Well-kept for a very-busy bubble tea joint.
