Excellent Salsa and Chips, but now Closed

I bought salsa and chips from here a few months ago and thought it was the best I've had. The salsa had just the right acidity and kick to it (both mild and medium) and the chips were on the thicker side and packed an excellent crunch.

Because I haven't had the chance to sample their actual meals, this review is just a notification that regrettably, this place is now closed and will open up soon as another Mexican restaurant called Burrito something.

Let's hope they also offer good salsa!

Great salsa, mediocre burritos/enchiladas

Had lunch here with two friendsy today. Started off with their salsa and chips and got excited, as the salsa was one of the best I have tasted. I ordered a burritos and my friends ordered two different kinds of enchiladas. They each came with rice and beans. The beans were overcooked and bland, as well as the rice. Both tasted as if they were microwaved right before they came to my table. The burrtio and enchliadas were similar, soggy and seemed like they were just microwaved.

Ordered some more salsa and chips, and also got some salsa to go. The restaurant is simple and clean, and the service was good for what it is.

I would only return to buy salsa to bring home.

This must be the most underrated little Mexican cafe in North Burnaby. Every time I've eaten here, the food has tasted fresh and homemade. The enchiladas and tacos are excellent and they don't skimp on the cilantro.

The service and dining area is pretty plain, but I think the food really shines here. The prices really could not be any lower, I believe.

Delicious, quick service

This convenience market and deli is a common stop for me on my grocery run. There's not a lot to say about this unassuming little place, except that the food is good, quick, and cheap. My meal is almost always a bean and cheese burrito, which comes with rice, salsa, and sour cream, and the portion sizes are generous enough to fill me up if I'm starving, or to serve as two meals if I'm not.

This is a great stop if you're looking for a good meal to go.

The first authentic tasting Mexican Food In Vancouver

We ate at La Salsa on a Tuesday afternoon and even though they didn't have many of the items on the menu the ones they did have were all excellent. I had Pozole -- the first time I have found this on a menu in BC -- and it was wonderful, a very rich broth perfectly seasoned. My wife had a chicken enchilada with tomatillo sauce and it was also delicious -- the sauce tasted fresh, lots of cilanto and the unmistakable flavor of serano chiles. Our son had a beef burrito, and even though it was nothing like the burritos we grew to love in California and Sonora, it was none the less very flavorful. If La Salsa has a drawback it is the fact that they only have one cook and she can't keep up with demand.

Went here for the first time today to try it out. There's nothing fancy about the deli.. in fact it's fairly simplistic but i think it kind of worked for this place. Because it's a deli, you go to the front counter to order your meal and the employee takes the order and brings you the food when it's ready. she was pleasant enough but as soon as she brings you your food, she disappears to the back and you have to call her out if you want something else
I had the chicken quesadilla and thought it was good. for $7.50, my quesadilla came with rice, bean, sour cream and salsa. It's a decent price for a meal but could've been cheaper when you compare it to other Mexican restaurants in the Lower Mainland. Their salsa was very good.. very fresh tasting.. their sour cream was a little watery for my liking though..there was also no hot sauce available which kind of sucked.

Overall, it's a decent place for a quick meal
