Earlier this week, my sister and I craved breakfast at dinner time - specifically pancakes. Where better to have good pancakes than the international house of pancakes?!? We were closeby Lougheed Mall and dropped in for an am-style meal. There were not many people in the restaurant, I guess because the mall was already closed (8pm-ish). It was a nice quiet dinner.
My sister ordered the "split decision" breakie consisting of eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes AND french toast. It sounded like a lot of food, but when the plate came, it was easy to polish off. I ordered the Farmer's sausage breakie. Eggs, hashbrown, sausage and pancakes. The hashbrown was nicely done. Shoestring style, but crispy. The food was excellent for what it is - casual breakfast. I have yet to find better buttermilk pancakes than at IHOP.
Service was a little lacking - not much enthusiasm from our server.
The restaurant was nice and clean which is always pleasant to see.
I would definitely return for more yummy pancakes!
A bunch of us went to the IHOP to enjoy 'lunchner' (a meal after lunch and before dinner) to fuel up for some holiday shopping. The restaurant was nicely decorated and clean. We had a booth and menus quickly so no worries there. The server who attended us was nice, so my subsequent rating for service is not zero. But read on...
We had a variety of items, including chocolate pancakes, crepes, various breakfast combos, and for me, a bacon and egg cheeseburger with onion rings. All the food was reported to be delicious. My artery-clogging burger was excellent and the rings were so good I was forced to share.:)
The problem came when one of our party tried to order toast. Since our server was elsewhere, my friend wandered over to a nearby cluster of servers and politely expressed her wish. After being unceremoniously shooed back to our booth, my friend had to endure a lecture from the boorish manager, who came over and dispensed a long lecture on ordering etiquette and the general ignorance of customers regarding the hierarchy of staff in the IHOP universe.
I would have thought "Sorry ma'am, I'll get your toast for you," would have been a more appropriate response.
Too bad, since the food was very good. Luckily there are other IHOPs, so we won't have to return to this one.
On many levels this location does not measure up to other local IHOPs in my opinion. This in no way reflects on the actual servers as most of them do their best, providing excellent service at times. It is the management that I find obsequious, and any sub-par food, etc. lands on their shoulders.
It is worth noting that this location does not participate in the Seniors Appreciation Day Wednesdays where seniors (55+) get a 2 for 1 meal. I think this says a lot about their attitude towards their customers...
I will no longer support this location.
We went for a late breakfast yesterday since we hadn't gone for awhile. Had pancakes, eggs, sausages. The pancakes & coffee was okay but the sausages didn't taste that fresh this time like they usually are. They were crispy on the outside but didn't taste like their usual flavour, they had a strange, stale flavour on the inside..
their current promotion is strawberry festival or strawberry something (i don't quite remember). for $7 you'll get a plate of hashbrown, sausages or bacons, and omelette, plus one portion of strawberry pancake or crepe or french toast. i think they're all decent and filling. i like the strawberry cream cheese. it's not like usual cream cheese. they also have some more syrups on the tables if you want to add more or mix them with your syrup. the portion is pretty big, so i could eat them twice, for lunch and dinner. but their original menu seems a bit pricey, which is $9 on average and you won't get an extra meal. but of course it depends on how big the portion is, which i don't know. the waiter was friendly and nice enough, but there was a waitress which was quite rude. i might wanna go back to try their pancakes or crepes in the original menu.
My husband, Aunt and myself stopped in there for lunch after shopping at Lougheed Mall. I ordered the grilled chicken, bacon burger and my husband and Aunt got the double BLT sandwich. All of the meals had bacon that was sloppy and undercooked. The lettuce on all three was wilted and gross and the bread on the sandwich and bun on the burger (which was supposed to be grilled and wasn`t) were soggy. We were tight for time so suffered through what we could eat. We told the waiter that the food wasn`t that great and all he offered was ``sorry but I`ll still have to bill you``. We paid and left very unsatisfied with the experience. Don`t think we`ll every waste our time trying that location again.
yesterday me and my family went to this location for dinner and By far this is the best IHOP we have been ,very friendly staff ,good food ,very clean ,me and my family can watch the games on big screen TV and they have free WIFI internet for customer, for sure we will go back.
Just took my family out for breakfast this morning to the IHOP at Lougheed mall. Food was decent, the service was decent, but the prices are higher than "most" other places.
I asked if the drinks were included with the kids breakfast menu items, to which the reply was "yes". When I got the bill the drinks were an extra charge. 2 kids juices, which came in small glasses, were $3 each ($6 extra on the bill). When I asked about it while paying at the cashier, I was shown in fine print that the drinks include milk and soft drinks, but NOT juice. Juice is probably the most common breakfast drink - not a soft drink!! And why didn't our server think to tell us, when I asked if drinks are included with the kids menu? A little courtesy there wouldn't have gone a miss.
FFS - an absolute joke! Won't be going back..
I brought my family to have lunch on sunday and the whole place was packed. Every one of the employees were working to clean, serve and attend to our needs. There was minimal idling around and talking (my greatest pet peeve).
The food wasn't bad, although you have to sacrifice warmth for tranquility.
Most likely I'll be going back on many occasions.
I think the food is ok knowing that you're in for a bunch of pre packaged stuff. The last 2 times I went which was about a year or so ago I noticed that the hashbrowns tasted bleachy. This seemed to be when i breathed out after taking a bite. Regardless I gave it another shot at another location and the same thing I'm afraid to go back now.... Everything else is pretty normal for that kind of an eatery.
This is the worst Ihop I have ever been to. I ordered an omelette and the food just tasted off. I kept tasting and just knew thats not how it should have tasted. I asked a server to get me a new one and the manager walked over. I did not get offered a new one but i was offered various dumb suggestions. I declined and just decided to pay and leave. As we were finishing up i see the management yelling at the server when they were not in the wrong. The management should learn to respect they're employees and have the "customers first" rather than saving a few dollars. I really urge you not to support this Ihop, there are so many various other places where you will see respect.
My boyfriend and I went to this location last weekend. The restaurant's breakfast rush was just dying down as we were seated. The host literally just tossed the menus on the table and walked away. I know we aren't at a 5 star restaurant, but that was pretty rude.
He then came back and grabbed our drink order and brought them to our table. I would suggest asking for a big glass of water, because the one provided was really small. They would probably save a lot of time by just giving a bigger water in the first place, rather then people waiting for refills and servers getting them refills.
Anyways, the bulk of our issue is that our food was cold. My boyfriend ate the majority of his, but I couldn't force down my food. I had a pancake combo, and cold eggs, hash browns and pancakes just don't go down well. I barely at anything off of my plate, as the server noted, "Oh, you weren't very hungry!". I told her straight that I didn't eat it because it was cold and she offered me a remake. By that time my boyfriend had eaten what he was going to and I didn't feel like waiting another 15+ minutes for my food to eat alone.
When we received the bill we were charged for both meals still. I'm sorry but I don't see the point in paying for something didn't eat...
I work at another chain restaurant where I know my meal would have been taken care of if I was a customer there. I don't even think the management was talked to about it, because it was just ignored.
We ended up having to pay about 30 dollars for our meals. I won't be returning there for a while. This whole experience left me with a really sour outlook of IHOP and their customer care.
The manager is very rude to the customers, very big shotty. The burger I had was burned black on the inside with a taste of charcoal to it. 2 weeks ago when there my food was cold, very poor standards, seems anything goes. I will not be back, the restaurant and manager totally sucks. The manager was rude to me infront of other customers and it was unprovoked. My mother is 93 and was with me and no respect for the elderly, he just ran off at the gums and insulted me. I will go to Red Robin or MacDonalds next time. Can't believe they hire people like him to run their restaurant, he sure would not work for me.
