This cafe is one of those that looks so grungy but has been around for so long that you think, "It MUST be good." Well, this is what I thought from the numerous times I've driven by it. One day, I had nothing for lunch and thought maybe I would give it a try.

Got there and I could not be any more wrong. Instead, all I could think about was, "How can this place survive?? HOW?!?" I wasn't really offered a menu, I just stood there in the freezing (no heat?) eatery and was stared at. I finally asked for a menu and she handed over a short bifold. On it, was a small variety offering of breakfast (only until 11am), burgers and sandwiches, and chinese food. I couldn't really take a look at what others were eating because, well, there were no others. Only 1 table of 2 men who were having just coffee.

Since it was already past noon, my choices were pretty limited. I chose chinese only because the owners were chinese and assumed they would do that well. I order a combo of S&S chicken balls and beef chop suey on rice.

As I waited for my order, there was a steady stream of phone orders one after another (at least 6 callers). I couldn't help but notice all were for burger orders.

When I returned to the office, I unveiled my lunch order. Sure enough, portions are huge! For under $8, my combo was more than enough to feed me for 2 meals. Taste-wise...well, I was surprised (sort of) that it was not so tasty.
If I ever decide to go back, I'll stick with the burgers since it seems like that's what keeps them in business.
