I am never disappointed with the green basil. I have been there several times and the food, service and ambiance are great! I've never had one complaint. It's the best thai and maybe the best restaurant in burnaby. The service is quick and courteous, the food is fabulous and its not such a big place where you just feel like another number coming through. If you like thai, or want to try it this is the place to go!
I co-worker of mine told me I needed to check this place out. I went with four other people and we were seated right away. As soon as we sat down, the server brought us water. After we had ordered, the food came extremely quickly. We ordered the usuals such as pad thai and red curry. We also had this plate full of appies - spring rolls, satays. We also ordered the eggplant stuffed with shrimp paste...you all MUST try it! It was absolutely delicious. Overall, the food was AWESOME, but the restaurant did get a little too loud. Also after we had finished, the server cleared out table so fast...it kind of felt like they were trying to rush us out. Then again, they were starting to get busy...I have nothing, but love for this place
My husband had beef yellow curry, it was very good. It was spicy, but good spicy. I ordered fried rice noodle with chicken, it was good as well. We also ordered the spring rolls. It's better than a lots of places.
The service was good as well.
We will definitely go back there again.
We will definitely come back to Green Basil.
They are located on the other side of Metrotown by Kingsway, Burnaby. We went for an early dinner around 6pm. At that time, my girlfriend and i were only at the restaurant. After a warm greeting from the host, he gave us the menu. We are not familiar with Thai food. We came there for their Curry. Picking what to have was a bit of a challenge because there were a lot of choices. Anyway, we went for a sauteed chicken with sauce, beef curry and a veggie fried rice. The dishes came fast, with a nice presentation. Finally, we started eating.
Overall, it was a nice experience, especially for the price. One final tip though, dont ignore the chili symbols on the menu; if you see 4 chili signs, that means its gonna be a hot dish! So yeah, come check them out!!!
My partner and I go to Green Basil at least once a month for dinner. The service is spot on, the ambience is inviting and the food is excellent. The curries are wondwerful, fresh vegetables and fun presentation in pineapple and young coconut bowls. Every time we try something new it is filling and delicious. There is an excellent vegetarian selection as well. The set meals are good for groups and give a good selection of flavours.
We have taken groups as large as 12 to Green Basil and the value for dollar and service is always good. True, it can get a little loud on a saturday night but the owner always gives us free mango icecream so I am inclined to be forgiving. Serisouly thoug,h I have never found it too be all that loud and have always managed plesant conversation with my dinner companion.
The happy experience at Green Basil has been consistant over the 6 months since we first satrted going there and I reccomend this restaurant to all.
