Japanese restaurant in Market Crossing, Burnaby
Agreed with many of the reviews above.
Service was okay coz we are the only table there at 6:30pm on a weekday. We ordered the deluxe combo for just under $28 and it came with just salmon and tuna sashimi and for the sushi..salmon, tuna, egg for a "deluxe" combo? the sashimi was not cut right.. it's chewy. We also ordered a chicken yakisoba and even my 2 year old son would not eat it. We have to go home and make dinner for him.
We ordered a 7 piece deep fried oyster but just 5 came. So the dinner cost us around $48 and we have 5 sushi and 2 pieces of sashimi left. This is the first Japanese restaurant that we have left over sashimi/sushi. I felt so bad for asking my husband to try this restaurant instead of White spot coz last time I went there at lunch time, it was full and the takeout order takes 20 mins so I didn't order due to my 1/2 hr lunch time.
So...I won't suggest this restaurant for anyone who looks for good Japanese food.
Went here on a Saturday night after all the other restaurants in the area were packed. This restaurant was EMPTY. I took it as a bad sign, but I was starving and didn't feel like waiting so I took the chance. Turns out, I would've been better off waiting at the other full restaurants. I ordered a sashimi salad and two rolls. Since I had just scored a jackpot at the casino, I decided to order their overpriced rolls (about $12 per roll). The sashimi salad came first, after about 15 minutes of waiting. If the restaurant was packed, I might understand. But I was only the third table in the restaurant, so that was unjustified. I expected the rolls to arrive shortly after, but those came after another 15-20 minutes of waiting. The wait wasn't even worth it, as the rolls tasted lukewarm and bland overall. The servers, while friendly, weren't attentive at all. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place.
