Expect really casual dining

This place is definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a cheap lunch option. They have bento boxes starting at $5! They also have filling sushi trays starting at $17.
Obviously, at those prices, you can't expect high quality here, but the food was good enough.

Presentation is not their specialty here. Fridge in the dining area, take out boxes everywhere and everything (even eating in) was on disposable dishes. But the price was right and the service was good, so who cares.

4 of us ate and was full for under $35.

Good food for a good price

So we decided to give this new little sushi restaurant a try. We had received a menu in the mail and thought that the prices were absolutely incredible. Tried both Bento boxes (A - $5 and B - $6.25) and found the food to be good for the price. I was offered spicy tuna sashimi instead of the regular sashimi and I found it to be very tasty and had great flavour. The green salad was just regular green salad but the dressing on it was spicy and tangy - really good tasting. The chicken terriyaki was well done and none of us found any bones or gristle. The Ebi Sunomono salad was also good, with two large ebis, a slice of lemon and lots of dressing. The gyoza were also really well made and the sauce that came with them had great flavour and we were able to use some of it with some of our sushi rolls (for added flavour to the terriyaki rolls).

We tried two of the party trays (Tray C and the Vege Tray) and all the rolls were very fresh and tasty, but I did find that some of the rolls were a little loose. But still absolutely fabulous for the value.

So all in all, we found the food to be great, the value was fantastic and the service was impossible to beat (all that food in 30 minutes and it certainly did not taste like it was prepared earlier). I can't really say much for the ambiance as we picked up the food to take it home. But the restaurant appeared to be clean, if a little on the stark side. But we will definitely be eating there again.

I was introduced to this place by a friend. I ordered the two bento boxes they had available. Box A ($5) had 3pc California roll, chicken teriyaki, tempura (2 prawn, 3 veggie), green salad and miso soup. Box B ($6.25) had sashimi (3 tuni, 2 salmon), chicken teriyaki, tempura (2 prawn, 3 veggie), green salad and miso soup. A really good value when u compared to similar boxes elsewhere. The portion was great for the price. The veggie tempura and sashimi were a bit on the small side, but what do u expect for the price? It's not close to what you get for a size portion at Sushi Garden, but the price off their menu is cheap. 9 pc of salmon sahimi is $5.75.

Service was good. When I got there, the frying oil was still warming up and the cashier offered me tea. It's a basic looking restaurant. Not really inviting for dine in, but there was a group of 4 other people coming in to order food right after me so traffic was steady. Good place to eat some cheap sushi!

Located on Imperial by the corner of Nelson, this was once a fish and chip whole in the wall. Not sure when it changed but I noticed it's now a Japanese restaurant. The inside is fairly small with 4 to 5 tables or so. Walls are white and glaring, so not much of a place for dine in unless you're looking for fast food restaurant feeling but they have pretty good prices.

I had their bento box (they have 2). It came with a miso soup, green salad, chicken terriyaki on a bed of cabbage, 2 prawn tempura, 3 vegetable tempura, 3 pieces of california roll and a good size bowl of rice. All this for a very good price of $5.00. I didn't end up eating the california roll as I was so full from everything else. The salad was the only thing not to my liking as it was served with a soy based sesame dressing and not the more common sesame vinagrette one I'm used to. There was plenty of chicken and the tempura were good size pieces. A bed of cabbage underneath the chicken is different from the usual bean sprouts is change but fitting because it's not at watery. I've had similar for about $8.00 - $9.00 so this is a great price for me.

My husband had their sushi combo for $6.00 that included 2 pieces of tuna and 2 pieces of salmon with a choice of cali roll, dynamite roll, spicy tuna roll, yam tempura roll or vegetable roll.

As I didn't eat any of the sushi or roll's I can't comment on the quality but my husband said it was good.
