Donut shop
I used to go to Duffy's Donuts on Edmonds Street in Burnaby, every time I took a bus from New West, my home town, and rode past this location on the bus. I would get off the bus, go in, and order a selection of cake donuts that Duffy was famous for. I also ordered sandwiches/sweets. Thier service was great, the food was excellent and the store was always very clean and neat. NOW , with the new owners, the place is always dirty, junky and they don't even make the cake donuts. I asked the owner (wife) why they didn't make those donuts, and she said it was her husband that did the cooking and he was too lazy. Obviously they both are, as the store is very dirty looking with junk everywhere! The display counters where they keep the food for sale, is a mess, dirty, and the food looks like it was sitting there for a week! They sell a combination of a bowl of soup ( I wouldn't eat), and a sandwich for $8.99 ! I have heard complaints from neighbours in the area that the soup is no good, and the bread was dry and stale on the sandwiches, and the price was too high! I recently moved near this store and was in there today to check it out. It was disgusting! I would never buy anything from them!
Service was friendly and prompt and the little shop is decent, but their donuts are terrible! I took a dozen for a meeting and they were almost like rocks. I got comments about not buying TWO day old donuts!
